prime95, only stress a single core.
orthos, stress both cores available.

either run 2x prime95 or run orthos.

or just try OCCT.
*
Latest prime stress quad-core which orthos cannot do.. Correct me if i am wrong.. tongue.gif

I find Orthos to be more reliable than OCCT. If it takes 20mins for OCCT to find any errors, it will take Orthos less than 3 seconds to find one! biggrin.gif
*
Maybe Orthos more into processor.. OCCT more into RAM .. tongue.gif

heee...giga board always hav high vdrop n vdroop... sweat.gif
u can customize the OCCT to test ur CPU only....
*
Yeah I know about tat..

Normally I use Orthos small ftt + Orthos CPU & Ram stress.. IF fail means not stable..

Prime95 seems to pass everything.. doh.gif

Same goes to OCCT but if RAM not good.. OCCT sure fail.. sweat.gif

IF you can pass OCCT 1 hour stress.. Means its stable for ur gaming already..

Will post screen shots of Orthos and CPU-Z later when my PC can online sweat.gif

1.39v ?

IF CPU-z reading then ok ok only lar..

My E2160's voltage reading in BIOS vary from 1.396 to 1.4xx while CPU-Z is 1.36x to 1.39x. Temperature is 34~37'C idle with Asus Triton 70 and Tuniq TX-2. Full load 7x'C :sob:
*
And that tells me Asus Triton 70 is lousy cooler.. laugh.gif

Just re-mounted by Asus Triton 70. Orthos blend test with priority 9 max temp is 63'C for CPU and 65'C for core. To me it's satisfactory.
Will try to get 2nd 9cm fan on it to further improve it wink.gif
*
That sounds better..

Get 92mm Panaflo 5000rpm 100cfm 50+dB from AllnGap.. Sure power.. thumbup.gif rclxub.gif

Hmm, not me. I'm not trying to get higher FSB as my board only supports up to 16000FSB and if any higher need to add voltage for FSB and Northbridge. Not worth it if mobo and proc boom together sweat.gif
*
I'm using the same mobo as yours..

Saw in the xtremesystem that someone did 500fsb with +3 FSB +3 MCH.. thumbup.gif

Btw... ur board is a gem.. rclxms.gif

Shouldn't be a problem though.. I always maxed out my FSB (+0.3v) and MCH (+0.3v) ... Temperature acceptable at load ...

there's no point maxing out the vmch, it's already proven that with default, it will do at least 420fsb

Added on February 29, 2008, 12:16 pm

lol, hoping for 3.6ghz it's a bit too much. Even 3.2ghz is considering good already. Yes go for Abit IP35e
*
I lazy to troubleshoot error one by one ... When I overclock ... Always maxed out FSB, MCH and vdimm @ 2.2v ... When stable only I slowly decrease to find the best voltage ... tongue.gif

Btw, Interested on the 120mm fan you selling. Care to show me the link? smile.gif

hehehe...but beware it might hurt ur mobo...we don't know how much voltage been feed to the NB chip at (+0.3v) since it doesn't have sensor for it...neway for precaution just put a fan blow on top of it...
*
I don't mind maxing out the voltage or running 80c on processor all day ...
I don't care about the lifespan on any of my PC components ...
The reason is I don't use it more than 6 months or 1 year ...
I want to get CPU cooler cause cooling solutions do a better job of keeping the CPU at a lower temperature, it is reasonable to expect the overclocking capabilities of the CPU will increase...
Somehow I feel like spending the extra RM 1xx for cooler is not worth it.. Better get E4xxx & clock higher with stock cooler (faster) laugh.gif

Actually E2160 @ 3.2Ghz already enuff for my gaming, surfing, encoding, etc...

Why buy E8400 when I can't fully utilize it? Hehe...

Btw, I can use 3152Mhz @ stock vcore... 12hours from morning till nite .. Activity like play games, surf net, encode video, etc... No problem at all..
Stress in orthos 2 hours the system reboot.. So, I just leave it lar.. doh.gif

You mean with your E8400 @ 4.2Ghz? I think that one also affected by hard disk writing speed gua... Try SCSI hark disk, maybe 1 time faster laugh.gif

I still don't know which cooler to purchase.. Surveying.. Maybe coolermaster GeminII or Hyper212..

400x8 with 1.39~1.41vcore. Temp idle 34'C in air conditioned room while full load can reach 64'C so far(will try to put 2nd 9cm fan on my Triton 70 and see the temp again, next weekend). Try Thermalright HR-01, my friend say it's a nice compact heatsink for CPU. Much similar like Triton 70 which can put fan on, but according to what he say its better than Triton 70. cool.gif
*
I think i better stay far from it..

RM 259 ! shocking.gif sweat.gif
