Well, I guess dis is da furthers I can do..... I cannot tighten up my timings anymore.... Now @ 5-5-5-12 2T..... N I think E2180 cannot go above 3.20ghz.... Tried 3.25ghz, can boot up, but get BSOD sumtimes.... especially when playing Dota....

Wanna ask, is this normal temperature reading for my E2160? -> 366X9 (3294MHz) using 1.38Vcore load temperature is around 73C idle is around 42-43C. **using stock heatsink

by the way, everytime i run any stressing program (2XsuperPI, OCCT...) the temperature jumped from 43C to 51C++ in just a split of a second. is this normal? and when i quickly stop the stressing program, the temperature drop (in a split of a second also) from 51C++ to 43C. Why is it there are this jumped temperature readings? isnt it suppose to raise linearly like maybe 43-45-46-47....

gigabyte's will suit ya need most i believe if budget come in mind bro. 

abit's boards are quite gud as well, but since i had a pleasent experience, that's y i recommend gigabyte's. RM70 for diff in capasitors (normal vs solid), u'll be d judge then whether is worth d $$$. both are almost on par if not a 'lil bit better than each other in term of oc. 

during last week before i bought my intel system i got these choices: Abit IP35E@RM300, Gigabyte P31 DS3L @RM300, Gigabyte P35 DS3L@RM340. the p31 DS3L and IP35E have identical features other than chipset while the P35 DS3L have GbLan,IEEE 1394 which IP35E and P31 DS3L dont have. all of them are highly recommended mobo, u can google and read their reviews. I have a hard time choosing these mobos but finally i choose IP35E, to be honest a bit disappointed with this mobo; dual booting issue, buggy BIOS (have to flash to a beta BIOS only solve the prob), and unable to adjust the PCIE voltage(to OC graphic card).

i would think if u really want to try a noob board for OCing, Abit is alright from my honest opinion. Abit makes decent mid range boards. Most companies like Gigabyte and Asus are damn good in their top boards. NO doubt. But if ur learning OC, and ur budget is tight, IP35-E is alright.

ermm like this bro, i guess most of the mid-range motherboards which are based on P-35 chipsets can run a FSB 400, even my P 965-ds 3 rev 3 still can handle an E2140 at 400x8 very stable. But the problem is now ur processor E2160, even it's a Mo stepping, I still can say that an e2140 still can win when it comes to a hundred percent overclocking.

Unless U wanna Bump Up the vcore very much, but the temp  , Even u bump that much, i Aint still pretty sure that it would be succeded. heu2heu, even now, I am still struggling with my E2160, to make it stable at FSB 347, I had to pump the vcore up to 1.425  , and the temp has raised 70 celsius using the stock heatsink..., but who knows ur chip is such a great one..who knows.. gud luck bro

u can expect 400fsb on almost all p35 boards, heck, even p965 boards can do that. wat matter d most is ya chip, for sure not all e2160 (even it's a m0) can do 400fsb as most of intel chips have this fsb wall. imagine if e2160 / e2180 can do 400fsb, will there be ppl buyin their e4xxx/e6xxx chips?

well, if that's d case i gotta agree w u, but i did enjoy playin w 965p-ds3 back then when i owned an e2140, oc was a breeze, or i can say oc w intel is easier. then i managed to play w asus p5k-e, a great board i must say. no vdrop & very fine voltage tweak option for vdimm (0.05v per notch IIRC), but my oc was limited by d chip which can hardly go further than 400fsb, that's y i opted to sell all & went back to amd (misery). 

im with biostar...see my siggy n my proc..all using biostar mobo to oc...n for me biostar is 1 among the best overclock value mobo out there...u can get TP35D2-A7 for RM340 plus minus...tweak it with rebel heaven bios...u'll be flying...

high vcore will not be a problem for water cooler runner...air cooling hav to monitor the temperature

lack of computer hardware knowledge is common for computer hardware sellers in lyp. I went to lyp last weekend to shop E2160, I ask those guys in Viewnet (3rd floor in a small shop) how much they selling Pentium E2160, they answered:"there are no Pentium E, only got pentium D 2160". there are 3 guys there also keep on convincing me that there are no Pentium E exist in Intel product line. What worst is that the pricelist they holding that time also misprinted as Pentium D.

have u update the latest bios? U also using E2160 too rite? 

lol... my E2160 HSF also is very skinny one like that    hopefully i can find a decent 3party cooler soon

To be honest, having an air cond room helps a lot too
