so far, the studio looks pretty good in terms of design, but the ati radeon 3450hd is not as good as the nvidia geforce 8600gt in terms of performance. i guess they wanted to avoid competition between the studio and the xps, as the studio is a newer product, but they want to position the studio as better than inspiron, worst than xps

i bought another dell myself, sadly i bought it 2 weeks before the release of dell latitude e6400, else that would be a better choice

the latitiude i have is definitely an older design than the vostro (and the new latitude e6400 is out, much sweeter), but its more expensive, as i heard its being built up using a magnesium alloy chassis. so its more durable during falls and everything. i even saw in youtube where a latitude d630 was run over by a car and still boots up.

other than that, latitude is more-so of a high end business machine compared to vostro. vostro has the same built quality as the inspiron

Vostro got 15 and 17 also.
During I order my 1720 , they fax me a quotation of Vostro 1720 that comes with greater processor and 1920x1680 screen with the same price.
I'm going for color so , live with it.

vostro has all the shapes and sizes, from 12, 13.3, 14.1, 15.4, 17 inches
