I still got error when trying to install the Nvidia patch it. So i just skip it. I'm still using the 177.89 driver.

hey guys, ive just recently reformatted my 1520...after reformatting, the only thing i got is the recycle bin..lol...i've install most drivers i know, but i think i'm missing some.can u guys give me a list of things i should install after reformatting...i'm using vista premium btw... i cant seem to find my bluetooth control even in the control panel.. thx in advance guys!
or if its too troublesome for u guys to list it out, u can just show me where to find the info. thx again!

all in good operating condition, it just the paint, the one near touchpad, i dont put the protection sticker, so the paint come out, (main game punya pasal lah...) as long as it run smoothly ok lah... now i play game use external keyboard..hehe.

^ I don't think your Inspiron 1520 is DDR3. I think only XPS has DDR3 8600M GT.

After installing 177.92 Vista, I haven't encounter any problem yet even without installing the new MS Update. So far so good.

Just get a Studio 15 with additional Rm86.00 for the backlighting on keyboard. Not the cover though.

I dont see why you'll say that your 1520 will be better than the Studio 15.
Unless you're comparing it with the most basic spec , otherwise , I dont think it'll lose far behind compare to 1520.

Dont you think that Dell did a great job on the newest Studio 15 as there's no more Faulty chips from Nvidia ?

n same goes to gpu..last time is 8600gt but now downgrade to 8400gs ddr2 which makes ppl look for ins1420 better coz it use 8400gs with ddr3
i only can say tht design for studio 15 does make ins1520 lose

Yes , so far 1520 users never encounter faulty chips issue with their GPU but that doesn't mean it wont happen right ?
If you're in the same boat like others , will you still go for a faulty GPU chips?

You can even add Rm2112 to get a T9500 in the Studio line .
Basically , I dont think you can compare directly to that though.
Unless you're comparing with a final product like MacBook 2ghz or MacBook Pro which end user doesn't have the option to customize their notebook.

hmm...thr also mayb our batch is fine with the faulty GPU..
if tht faulty chips involved many ppl around esp in this forum when i thinking to buy this laptop then i will think twice.but if got news tht this GPU is faulty but still the ppl at here not yet get affected then i will still go for this ins1520 coz GPU also 1 of the point to look at..
but of coz design i still like studio..

my webcam didnt get detected all of the sudden.. i try update driver also doesnt work.. can tell me wut should i do now?

erm, last time i ahppened this. cause by my sound driver, after update my sound driver , my webcam hang and wont start. after reformat and reinstall all latest driver, this nv happened anymore

reformat..? ust use the recovery cd?

mayb try to clean uninstall ur previous driver n install the latest driver??

btw finally got c2d sticker..hehe..but kinda big a bit compare with centrino n vista sticker
