Yes it's possible. Use a software-based or just set it up on Control Panel. U don't need button for that. That will be a waste.

QUOTE(penny2 @ Aug 9 2007, 02:30 AM) Haha, try to switch all graphic configurations to high and see... I alrdy set all the settings to high Just checked dell website, the price changed again for Inspiron5200... i wonder what's the difference between WXGA, WXGA+, WSXGA+ display. does it make observable differences? QUOTE(derred @ Aug 9 2007, 01:05 PM) Yes it's possible. Use a software-based or just set it up on Control Panel. U don't need button for that. That will be a waste. The one in the control panel can only set the timer to switch off the LCD but not off the LCD instantly rite? |

Usually laptops have switches built in them to detect if the lid is open or closed...in order to conserve power. Even the power option in the control panel doesn't help...because it cannot detect if the lid is closed or open.
Apparently this new inspiron models doesn't have them built in. All i can do is set timer to a lower limit and let it turn off the screen after a minute or so. What a pain. |

You mean ForceWare? I've updated mine to 163.11, no problem so far.Had to pull out my Dell's display driver DVD. I set mine turn off after 10 mins, if would be better if there's a button to switch the LCD on or off.Apparently this new inspiron models doesn't have them built in.
