Can anyone confirm if Kad Mesra Physical can no longer be used and we must submit receipts to Setel as only way to claim points for cash payments?

I see, then probably the Physical Kad Mesra is faulty as I had difficulty in getting it detected.

Also I recently emailed them for replacement was told that they will no longer send replacements, and ask me to use Setel app.

So without a replacement card only way is to take photo of receipy and submit to Setel in 7 days! What a hassle!

I think its possible to try ask at the counter, if they could give you a new card and ask CS to replace your account to the new card number

Setel seems to have launched a new feature called "Setel Share".

But not sure how it works does the 'owner' still get the points as usual? Or reduced points sort of like a referral system. While the 'member' gets the normal points.

No further details and owner needs to do eKYC. Maybe gonna wait awhile more before trying

PDS got mention Setel Share https://www.setel.com/product-disclosure-sheet

T&C also https://www.setel.com/terms

Setel Share means a feature that allows the Setel Wallet Owner to share his/her credits in the Setel Wallet with selected friends and family (“Setel Share Members”).

Setel Share Owner or Owner means the User who is the owner and main controller of the Setel Wallet, hosting the selected Setel Share Members.

2.5 To use the Setel Share feature, the Owner of the Setel Wallet is required to send invites to Users via the Setel App. Once the Users accepts the invite, he/she will become the official Owner of the Setel Share Members who will be able to utilise and benefit from the Owner’s Setel Wallet.

2.5.1 The Setel Share Owner is responsible for the selection of his/her Setel Share Members, thus great care and consideration must be taken upon selecting and sending the invites. Setel shall not be responsible for any wrongful selections, unauthorised use, losses, reversals, fees, claims, penalties or chargebacks, incurred by the Owner’s Setel Share Members.

2.5.2 The Setel Share feature allows up to two (2) Setel Share Members per Owner only.

2.5.3 The Setel Share Owner will be notified of every purchase made with his/her Setel Wallet and no approval is required prior to each transaction performed by any of the Setel Share Members.

2.5.4 The Setel Share feature can only be used if the Owner upgrades his/her Setel Account and once the Owner successfully passes the e-KYC verification process. For the avoidance of doubt, only the Setel Share Owner will be required to complete this additional step for verification purposes.

Setel can now be used at several physical and online stores (thru ipay88). This is good because can use shopee coins when buying setel credits. Hope they expand the list to include places KFC, Nando and more common ones.

An extremely sneaky move from Setel trying to force users to do eKYC. Any submission of petrol receipts to claim Mesra points through Setel App are rejected until your eKYC is done.

What is that?

--------
Kinda concern that Setel official store at shopee has gone one vacation since 1st Jan. Are they pushing for in-app top up too? Too much forcing will cause total abandonment of the app or worse, petrol brand loyalty.

Currently using Maybank Islamic PETRONAS Ikhwan Visa Gold Card-i.

Will I get the 8% cashback from cc if I pay the petrol using Setel app?

Don't think so, because Maybank Islamic give CB to "PS" or "PSS" only.

What is PS or PSS?

Weird. A friend told me that he is using the same card and paying directly using Setel app (not topup Setel app), and he is entitled for the 8% cashback.

Wanted to verify if this information is legit.

Transaction description as per the monthly statements.
(Petronas Station)
Unless Maybank / Maybank Islamic now add Setel to CB keywords with petrol MCC.

In Setel App, it lists the CCs that give CB to CardTerus, but Maybank Islamic CC is not included yet.

Haha you can test with RM10 Setel CardTerus, do update here when you get the result on 1Feb.

What is that?
There is a feature on Setel that allows you to upload Petrol receipt which you may have failed to scan the Mesra Loyalty Physical Card during debit card/cash payments.

I tried uploading it, 1st case was rejected due to uploading it later than 7 days from petrol purchase.

Second case try upload again within 7 days, STILL REJECTED. Liaised with CS said reject because didnt upgrade ewallet to the higher limit by doing eKYC (upload IC, selfie).

It seems they are trying very hard to kill off the old Mesra Physical Card. I had been having trouble having this card successfully scanned at both pump kiosk and cashier counter, which is why I upload to Setel as they mentioned this to be the new alternative for regaining uncaptured points (before this you can just email the Mesra department attach the receipt, now they said CANNOT anymore, must use Setel). But the procedure is such ridiculous nonsense, a waste of time and ultimately they reject for some ridiculous reason.

Ya Mesra card is being merged into Setel, I noticed some of my Mesra points had gone missing recently but no record to prove it. Good news is you can convert remaining Mesra points to Setel credit (1 Mesra points = RM0.01).
Using Setel to pay fuel no need to swipe Mesra Card.
