After redeeming the Shopee Setel e-voucher at the Setel app, is there any expiry for the credit?

Setel app > Menu > More > Payment History > RMxx Setel Credit > Expiry date.

Oh so there is. My history is still blank and no activity yet. Any idea how long is the expiry date?

Each Credit has different expiry date, some shorter, some longer date.

Do the app send notification on near expiry credit? I just found out my last credit purchase (Nov/20) was expired few days back but I didnt have any record of notification inside the app.... I just chat with CS and requested for reinstatement hopefully can be granted.

Nowaday only pump Caltex / Petron due to Shopeepay RM15-3 rebate... totally forget about the Setel expiry

Update: Setel reinstate my expired credit after I appeal to them.

The thing is, I don't understand why there is an expiry date. It is not points or vouchers. We don't see other Boost or Shopeepay impose expiry date on our credits. Kind of weird.

in financial book, this could be due to revenue recognition.

if credit is not used, they cannot recognized it as revenue.

by enforcing validity, they forces users to spend the credit without holding the credit (unutilized) indefinitely.

Didnt know there's expiry date. My account is now zero, how to check if there was an expired credit?

They should probably think it from user point of view and devise a better way to enhance user's experience.

Here, I just found out about it too.

Only for those Petronas Giftcard, Petronas e-voucher, Setel credit and Paysgift voucher sold at discount. More like you redeem the petrol credit, instead of keeping the wallet credit.

Did you buy Setel credit RM50/RM100 from Shopee?

Will stick to PGC for the time being. Those that I bought recently will only expire on 2024.

Setel credit @ Shopee I bought in March 2021 will expire in 2048.
The one I bought in December 2020 will expire in early June 2021.

May buy again this morning.

Haha what!? 2048 better keep, the value might increase

PGC is out of stock for few days now, while Setel is selling at RM98. Will it go any lower during sales?

Today RM98
RM73.50 + 2450 coins
RM73.50 X 0.2 = RM14.70 <- rebate by HLB CC - Shopee campaign (15/5)
[not for Shell vouchers as the payment transaction will go to Airpay]

RM98 - RM14.70 = RM83.30 (assume 2450 coins = RM24.50)
Coin reward - 74 (RM0.74)
So savings RM17.44

Never. My credit reloaded from JOP.

Just bought it this morning.
RM2 exp in July 2021, RM98 - 2048.

Use credit card to top up Setel wallet, no expiry.
