It has a very rigid chassis and double wishbone rear suspension. How you find the comfort and handling ? Can share what leads up to your decision to get this car than others ?

The look is good. CBU unit. Double wishbone seems convincing. I drove honda civic last time, comparing to this car, handling is as good as civic due to its low CG. The Toyota Safety Sense is good as well, i try the dynamic auto cruise, this car will slow down when sensing the front car suddenly slow down. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

About 2 months from now. I got the pearl white G specs. The only thing i don't like is the automatic head light. I still prefer the conventional type when i can switch to auto or manual on/off the light. Now only have automatic on/off lights. So sometimes when go over toll booth, then it light up, and light off just after toll booth. Don't know how long my LED light can withstand with this keep on/off.

Don't worry.
I have the ZRE173 version with 160k km.
LED still works fine. smile.gif

Hey guys, as this car is at the moment quite rarely seen on the road, I'm curious about one thing.

I was told by a Sales Advisor that it takes up to 2 months+ to get the car.

Quite contradicting, are they really low on stock because there are so many buyers queuing or the SA is trying to sell the old units (ugly infotainment head units)?

Coz a week after the booking, SA told me, if I want quick, there's a RM3000 discount (because of the ugly head unit) and I can get the car much faster.

So is this a sales trick or for some reason, everyone who bought the car also had to wait 2-3 months (since UMW announced about the new head unit upgrade)?

Thanks for the SST SST SST rebate under Covid 19 stimulus package. Discount percentage is vary in depending on car prices.

Many potential car owners are waiting 2 - 3 months after paid booking .. Not only Toyota car, you name any automotive brand, walk into any showroom, ask few questions, pretend to be a car buyer and you will get the same waiting periods..

Agreed! last week the salesman told me if i want buy, they need to check for stock. If no stock maybe will need to wait till next year due to SST rebate for next year yet to confirm.

Just got mine last weekend. Really loving the handling and suspension so far, really comfortable drive. Some things I'm not too happy about with the car:

- Keyless entry is only from driver's side. For me, I have a child to put/take out in the back seat on the left side, so I always have to lock/unlock using the key instead of keyless.
- Apple Carplay is only using cable, no wireless. Adding to that, the placement of the USB slot makes the cable interfere with my left hand while I drive.
- The door angle opening is not as wide as a Honda. This makes putting/taking out a child from a car seat a bit tight.
- Fuel consumption so far for city driving is 11-12 km/l on Eco mode. Don't know what other users are getting but I feel like this is pretty low compared to my wife's City.
- Sound system is so-so only.

The car responses very well to all the road undulations, so vibration is non-existent and the ride is smooth, I would say more comfortable than a Civic. But the noise from outside is a bit loud compared to other cars I've driven but nothing too serious. After a few days, got used to it already.

About the keyless, I'm just comparing it to a Honda which has both front doors keyless, so you can lock/unlock from either side.

I guess there's no perfect car out there. If I were to have bought a Civic, I'd probably complain about other things. I just hope the Corolla is a reliable car smile.gif

Ah i see, i tot corrolla is very muted the nvh the previous gen. Yeah honda jazz also have front passenger side, i understand so actually dont need all door but at least both side should have keyless.

Dont worry corrolla is very reliable because the engine hasnt change for 10yrs i think lol. Only interior change but i see this gen looks much better than last gen. My surprise ia that the handling and suspension is good. I will go test drive. Really sad to see no fanbase here in msia for this car.

It's quite a head turner especially with the lights on and not many on the road, so people keep looking to see what car I'm driving icon_rolleyes.gif

It's the rear double wishbone suspension that makes the handling and suspension superb.

Yeah, quite sad that this thread is dead. Lots of Civic users on this forum. Try going on Facebook group "Altis Club Malaysia",it's quite lively but not a lot of Gen 12 users there.

last i heard from SA a few months ago, seems true for the top spec with updated bigger HU. I guess UMW under estimated the demand (unexpected tax free incentives?) and didn't secure enough units from thai this year. Not sure if they manage to get more to come in this year.
but still there is so little on the road, hardly see any....
