caste system is a very complex issue.

its not just some ancient irrationalities.

caste system are still there because it affects how the society works.

if you want to abolish caste system, a better alternative must be put forward.

simply rubbishing it will only create more problem.
*
The whole system sucks and it promotes discrimination. It should be abolished. The better alternative is already available. Everyone have equal rights and opportunities. No one should be judge base on his or her caste. The reluctance of a lot of Indians to abandon caste system is one if the reason they are behind China.

what? you are discriminated everyday?

cannot ho to work

cannot go out

cant buy anything

cant have job

cant get education
what i am seeing is 'mandarin speaking candidat'

this is the discrimination that we face everyday

my bro and my littke sister after grad cant get a damn job because ' mandarin speaking only'. in his field
this is not damn china.. why must malaysian face discrimination for a language that not even originated here
*
There are also jobs that put bumiputera encouraged to apply. Even many Chinese banana cannot find jobs in those companies cause they don't speak mandarin. There are so many talented non Chinese out there who can speak fluent mandarin. Instead of complaining you should learn more languages to improve. However, personally I will never apply for job that put it as requirement cause I have no interest in joining Chinaman style kompeni.

Nothing complex, discrimination is discrimination.

Same goes in Malaysia but with a slight different, bumi shout ketuanan, but in reality, majority bumi themselves lives in Malaysia like parasites. Bumi only have 3 caste, rich politicians, rich royalties and poor (non of those 2 types) bumi, which where Im belong to, right now.

Percentage of rich bumi that are not in those rich bumi categories are way smaller than other major races in malaysia.

But we are far superior in terms of social and economy, despite 20 times less population than them.

in india, a farmer children will only know how to farm. he does not know anything else. if he came from a certain caste, that caste traditionally only know how to farm. any form of social progression is for that person to become a better farmer.

if he tries to break away from that caste, he will have trouble to acquire any sort of support. lets say he wants to become a trader or a businessman, nobody in his community will want to support him or even if they want to they dont know how.

lack of support system in his community will cause him trouble if anything goes wrong with his business. not only in his business but also in his social acceptance.

this also applies in a way to Malaysia. you cannot expect a felda settler son to suddenly become a businessman because he definitely lacks the knowledge, financial capability and support system within his community. a 3rd generation chinese sensei also cannot suddenly decide to become an open sea fisherman because he definitely do not have the support system.

which come to a conclusion, to breakaway from caste system, a proper education and an effective support system is important. a country like India is high in corruption in all level of society. this aspects are inter related and the reason why its a complicated issue that need many parties to involve. simply implying a liberal laissez faire western concept without real understanding on the ground does not work and will only cause disasterous.

a lot of people might have forgotten, back in the 90s China is also a frequent joke when it came to toilet:

1. you need to remember to bring umbrella to use toilet in China because frequently there is no door
2. you can see lots of "stone" underneath the toilet (wink wink)
etc etc

but nowadays no more joke about toilet in China. Maybe India one day in the future you won't joke about their toilet also.

That is why the whole system should be abandoned and the government make it illegal for the caste system to be practised anymore. You cannot always blame no proper education, corruption, etc. If the first step also they are unwilling to take, the system will forever be practised.

We are living in modern society. A Felda settler son can also become a businessman if he is not discriminated from getting knowledge, financial assistance and support. The mentality that a fisherman and his sons or daughters must forever be a fisherman must go. The system is pure discrimination and it might sound harsh but it is no different from apartheid.

If they embrace atheism or a more secular way of thinking, they no doubt would have caught up with China even if they're behind China.Indians in Middle East are like Chinese in ASEAN where they own majority of corporation there.

Both are wrong of course(Chinese and Malay) but the only reason u feel discriminated is because many Chinese employers create their own version of bumiputera where Chinese is prioritise. If anything they copy policies from u and a mirror to Bumi mistakes. The only reason why ramai Melayu yg terasa is because the top earning salaries in Malaysia is from private companies which is owned by Chinese. Chinese terasa because the top universities in Malysia is by bumis.
