you missed the ymmv?

i was going to give a lengthy, detailed, and elaborate reply. but, quite sure you'd skip over the details anyway. and yes, i'm sure. as sure as i am that you'd just replace the batts without checking the failure voltage, the initial voltage, and the duration it took for the voltage drop...also never compared the result to the conventional batts. so, let's just settle it simply at ymmv.

nothing wrong with changing rechargeable at 6months vs >1year for the conventional. i'm not saying the clock doesn't work with it. jeez... i'd prefer changing more frequently rather than finding it dead, leaking, and spoiling the device...

i'm not against rechargeables. just stating my observation to add into the discussion.

demmit, this long already, might as well add... conventional batts start at 1.5V, rechargeables at 1.2V (1.3V at best)... with the same load/drain... it doesn't take rocket science to figure out which one will reach 0.9V (failure) first.
if you are going to argue that your ladda lasts longer in that situation, i'd love to be educated on it, as long as it's not based on "feelings".

yes, i'm fun at parties...

Of course get the biggest capacity available. No reason to get the lower.

I mean, is there any significant difference between the 1900 and 2450 mah, for light usage?

price wise rm24.90 vs rm39.90

mainly use for remote, clock, etc.

Eveready AAA X4 for RM7.80 at 99speedmart.
We are having energy crisis.

I try to use cheap China battery for my Panasonic aircond remote. Unable to power up the display although battery is new.

Topup RM2 for a single AA/AAA cell? That's premium category already.

firstly, u have to understand the difference between carbon zinc and alkaline batteries, those "super heavy duty" batteries u see on shelves are carbon zinc
these batteries no matter how branded they are, they will have 1/3 the capacity of an alkaline battery

so even a cheapo MR DIY alkaline battery can be 3x longer lasting than lets say branded Eveready carbon zinc super heavy duty batteries

and tests have also proven that those branded alkaline batteries are only 10 to 20% longer lasting than cheap alkaline batteries, so an energizer alkaline battery is only 20% better than lets say MR DIY alkaline batteries,
but u can get MR DIY alkaline batteries for as cheap as RM1 each battery, but energizer ones cost like almost RM4 per battery, so the cost is not worth it, its almost 4x more expensive but only 20% better
*
Those few bucks zinc carbon battery is perfect for long interval low drain stuff like wall clocks or remote
because from experience alkaline always leaks n corrode the terminals
whereas GP green zincs less reactive and/or shorter change duration so nothing happens
and its just S$1.30 - 50c pee pee voucher only 80c for a pack

U mean charger doesn't last long?

I just bought ikea ladda. Gonna use my decade old GP charger to charge it. Hope it won't explode.

Been using rechargeable battery for few yrs now.

All this juice leaking corroded nightmare is gone. No more. And didn't buy a single battery since.

Why not try Xtar? They have local supplier and also easily found at taobao.

Alkaline leak eg E bunny brand or Ikea yellow ones is always a perennial problem which I attribute to the chemical composition. Don’t face with rechargeable much or ever with zinc carbon GP

Early 20's, I use GP rechargeable. At that time no IKEA rechargeable battery. And Panasonic Eneloop is expensive.

But all thrown away as it age already.

Than before MCO, news leak out that IKEA rechargeable same as Enelope but cheaper.

So I go sapu. tongue.gif
