Searching for good deals on AAA battery for alarm clock, flashlight, alarm, etc. Some of the things are emergency items, so just tuck the battery in and will never use the devices (touch wood). Not gonna use it for toys or motorized item as I don't have any. Does buying the cheapest rechargeable AA/AAA for this purpose even make sense? If yes, what model (battery/cell) do you recommend? Share your best loot. Sample/reference: This DoublePow rechargeable cell reliable? Lots of sale on shopee. I can put my super old GP Rapid PowerBank charger to good use. https://shopee.com.my/AA-AAA-Battery-1200-m...7417.1857447973 This post has been edited by Skylinestar: Jan 6 2020, 09:57 PM

QUOTE(bismaximus @ Jan 6 2020, 09:36 PM) Buy IKEA rechargable ones....buy the charger. I stop buying batteries for more than a year now after using IKEA Laddas. Initial cost 'slightly' higher, but long term I guess cheaper. u use rechargeable battery for clock? just wondering how long is the retention because it will be useless for clock if it cannot retain.

QUOTE(destiny6 @ Jan 6 2020, 09:43 PM) You bought those cheap MrDIY batteries better check from time to time, if leak later your device cannot use anymore so MrDIY is only good for quick drain use item like toys? even the cheapest everyday will outlast the most expensive mrdiy?

QUOTE(hjffgjng @ Jan 6 2020, 09:58 PM) QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jan 6 2020, 10:09 PM) Yes, leak easily. The nature of alkaline battery. If you are going to use one for clock, get Energizer Lithium AA battery. Primary lithium battery type = will not leak. Don't buy those generic rechargeable battery = high self-discharge rate.......unless it is Panasonic/Sanyo Eneloop..... too poor to use expensive battery for clock / remote light sensor This post has been edited by Skylinestar: Jan 6 2020, 10:18 PM

QUOTE(Percival II @ Jan 11 2020, 11:55 AM) Yesterday my aircond remote control became weaker signal, so I open it to change battery. Kinda shocked because battery inside is dated from August 2018.. which mean age more than 1 year. Is this good or bad?
