Ya know, sometimes, it isn't about how much you squat. It's how much you know. The body/mind works together. It must.
A guy can be born strong, squats mad amounts, but with improper form, bust something important, and become weak. And we all know, you're only as strong as your weakest point. IF that weakest point, is irreparable, you're fcuked. A weak guy, with ample knowledge, can work to his/her maximum potential, use his knowledge to offset the weaknesses and turn him/herself strong as well. IF those guys at GOLD's can squat heavy, with that form, great. I ain't stopping you. However, I'd rather point my toes outwards, it tremendously helps the comfort and solves just about every knee, ankle flexibility problems. Remember,I'm not a bodybuilder. Principals differ. I'm more to strength maximization and martial arts. What use is 215LBS of muscle but having a 165LBS down you to your knees in a fight? Yes, I've done this. I wasn't even 165LBS that time. I was only 140LBS. Mass x force=power. Too much mass x too little force= Badawi playing golf. |

what i was trying to say is, even if u r born strong, with improper form u cant really squat real heavy, like 1.5x or 2x bodyweight. u are going to pop your knees with wrong form, unless u r born strong like andy bolton la. or the wrong form is your most comfortable form for your body structure, since everyone is born different.

i think we should just see what it looks like first...
don't generalise everything king says to be stupid, or whatever he does to be wrong. it' kinda hard to believe someone can actually pop a vein squatting. might be something else that caused it. |

yes yes yes!!!!
I was at the gym in my campus yesterday (got chased out after a while, cuz I wasn't a member and it was member hours, stupid eh?) Did benches for fun with; 185LBS x 5 205LBS x 3 225LBS x 1 245LBS x 1 1/2 (Biatch yeah!! PR'ed without even noticing it!) It was actually a miscalculation! At 225LBSx1 I told the guys to remove the extra 10lbs plates....but I pointed at the weight rack. So they assumed that I wanted an extra 2 plates, and racked it in. I went to talk to a friend, and paid no attention to the extra weights and just benched! So I did 245LBS and went past the lowest point, but got stuck about 5 inches away from my chest. So I lowered it again, pushed even faster and got past the sticking point! I are happy!!! This was after a math test and no food too. Hehe!!!! ![]() Shot at 2007-07-23 i iz happy |

It's no big deal, until you bench at least twice your bodyweight. Yet it was a nice feeling....still too weak, too weak.

There's this guy from my gym...
he joined a month before i did 2 years ago, i quit gym 5 months afterwards, but he kept at it till now. He's big alright... but he's got a small frame, i'd say his weight is about 80 to 90kg at most. I've never seen him squat before... until last week when he went crazy, he parallel squat 180kg in front of everybody for 10 reps... everyone stopped their training to gawk at him... dam impressive weii |
