I had a hunch of Microsoft will be pushing the “Play Anywhere” feature as main selling point for their rumored Xbox handheld.

Crossplay between Xbox console and PC is a very neat feature but the Xbox app is still rough around the edges. I would like to play on it but damn the app is slow and bloated which ruined the experience.

With SteamOS keep eating their breakfast, Microsoft will need to step up their game so that gamers won’t abandon Windows for Linux.

my guess is xbox will push "series S" game on handheld. probably use expansion card storage, the same as Series X|S too. Playanywhere did not gain much attention from game developer.

steamOS is not new, since 2013. only now gain much attention largely due to proton and steamdeck.
dont think gamer will abandon windows for linux soon.
much of PC gamer still rocking nvidia GPU, which is bad on linux.

I just bought a used Series X, i noticed the download speed is not stable when im downloading a game from game pass, fluctuating from 20-40Mbps. But updating the console firmware, i can get full speed 100Mbps.

Any particular settings for the wifi to get full speed other than going cable?

it depends on your distance from router, Wi-Fi signal strength/channels, most of us uses LAN cable for stable connections.

today only i able to test, 8K30 HEVC video playback on XSX. it play smooth~

But power consumption on playing video those or streaming in console is kinda not worth , hmm ...

not steaming. i just want device that able to playback my own recorded 8K30 HEVC video on tv.
android TV - fail
phone and tablet - able to play, but lazy to keep on connect to HDMI.

as XSX always connected to tv via HDMI, a perfect 8K30 video player for me.

My game pass expiring next year, wonder when Malaysia gonna has it's own Ultimate..

consoles price should be going cheaper in its generation, but now both are going the opposite way, xbox also had their price increase after the ps

Console gaming is getting more and more expensive nowadays, looks like sooner or later I'm gonna ditch console gaming altogether, either sailing the high sea or go to PC only

yeah. as mention by kotaku, the only generation that the price increase year by year instead of going down.

with xbox remote play going to web only, xbox app become useless to me.

i think they like halfway give up with console already.
next gen might be the last console (just for up to date spec/ray tracing/4K etc gimmick) then straight away digital/streaming experience.
