Got a series S last weekend.
Traded in my one S and topped up around Rm700 for a second hand series S.

Planning to convert that into an emulation machine via dev mode.

They quickly reverted this earlier this year after the backlash.

There are even ways to install retro arch in commercial mode. But that’s really grounds for an account/device ban.
So I’ll stick with the legit dev mode.

Pretty sure you can get retroarch without dev mode, thats what i did for my SX

I believe Retroarch still works in retail mode.
I've been wanting to try but can't find time yet.

At least I can ditch the huge ass dongle to connect the controller wirelessly, since Series controllers are BT. Been using my aging PS4 controller with the Z13. Thumbstick button L3 on that controller sunken already. Too much sneaking around in Elden Ring with L3 button.

When a game is as HUGE as Elden, it's fix log matches the same scope.

Unless some unsuspecting unannounced, huge game comes out between now and the end of year, Elden is already GOTY2022 to me.

Judging by this year's announced releases,.......... GOW Ragnarok and Starfield. If both them stick with their release date this year. Ragnarok still up in the air, Starfield is 11/11/22.

Senua 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, also only if they release this year.

That's the thing, dying multiple times in boss fights in Elden is not stressful to me.

I treat it as a physical puzzle that needs to be solved. How do I approach this. I tried this, it didnt work, how about if I try this now? It encourages analytical thinking. Of course, vary your approaches, not repeat the same mistake every time. You know what Einstein say about insanity:

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

That's when stress comes because you're expecting the boss to keel over because you did the same thing over and over, perhaps with better buffed weapons and spells. Sometimes all it takes is a different way of tackling the situation. Not just brute force.

Or I could just play the Sonic bundle I've got from Steam sale years back, that I hardly even bother to even install anymore.



Point is, nostalgia is nice, but you're not fleecing me for it or buying multiple versions of essentially the same copy of it, Sega. Nothing nostalgic is worth that in my book.

Wow. a 40GB devkit. looks like Microsoft may have consider putting 20GB ram inside the retail version. FYI that was my estimation for next gen console to last 5-7 years. imo 16GB is too small for combine ram system. 3-4 GB of it is OS & 12-13GB is for gaming not really great for 2025-27 gaming. but that was before Direct Storage technology. 

These type and quality of conversation here is why I immensely prefer this side of the forum. At the neighbor's side I feel like I have to ELI5 it everytime. Lots of spoonfeeding and open-mouth-feed-me-info baby birds.

I pray it's not into people who makes policies for the country. That's how we get the current crop of politicians. Roundabout going nowhere, with no results to show. I end up improving my own self coz I know I cant depend on anyone else to do so,when it comes to self-improvement skills, be it gaming skills or life-related skills like how to survive a financially-inflated world. But then again, that's just me. Dunno.

FAR completed in 2 sittings, pretty short game, but it's very relaxing after the Elden Ring
could have 1000/1000 it, but lazy to go for 2nd run, so... next game!

As for what games I'm playing? I'm just finishing up FH5. Waiting for Sniper Elite 5 to drop next month on GPU. If good, buy full game on Steam. Also waiting for my email from Valve for my 512GB Steam Deck order. They pushed me from Q2 to Q3. No rush though, I'm enjoying my time with my Z13.
