Got a series S last weekend.
Traded in my one S and topped up around Rm700 for a second hand series S.

Planning to convert that into an emulation machine via dev mode.
*
retroarch still working?
from what i read, dev mode will be lock by MS if your account did not publish any UWP app.
thats why i did not try it.

They quickly reverted this earlier this year after the backlash.

There are even ways to install retro arch in commercial mode. But that’s really grounds for an account/device ban.
So I’ll stick with the legit dev mode.
*
just read about it, they reverted back saying its a mistake. biggrin.gif
the commercial mode is not done by retroarch dev, but by some user (i think no longer available).

please update us with your emulation journey with Series S.

At least I can ditch the huge ass dongle to connect the controller wirelessly, since Series controllers are BT. Been using my aging PS4 controller with the Z13. Thumbstick button L3 on that controller sunken already. Too much sneaking around in Elden Ring with L3 button. lol.gif
*
im no longer using DS4 for PC gaming. using Series controller either using BT or wired (with battery removed). but now no longer sit at PC for gaming, only at XSX. buy local co-op game for fun.

When a game is as HUGE as Elden, it's fix log matches the same scope. laugh.gif

Unless some unsuspecting unannounced, huge game comes out between now and the end of year, Elden is already GOTY2022 to me.

whats your next game? or still gonna explore Elden?

Judging by this year's announced releases,.......... GOW Ragnarok and Starfield. If both them stick with their release date this year. Ragnarok still up in the air, Starfield is 11/11/22.

Senua 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, also only if they release this year.

most of the game delay right? at least 2023.

That's the thing, dying multiple times in boss fights in Elden is not stressful to me.

I treat it as a physical puzzle that needs to be solved. How do I approach this. I tried this, it didnt work, how about if I try this now? It encourages analytical thinking. Of course, vary your approaches, not repeat the same mistake every time. You know what Einstein say about insanity:

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

That's when stress comes because you're expecting the boss to keel over because you did the same thing over and over, perhaps with better buffed weapons and spells. Sometimes all it takes is a different way of tackling the situation. Not just brute force. icon_rolleyes.gif

while i agree with your statement above, maybe due to age, i only seek game that possible to be play in a short time.
hundreds hour of RPG, queue in library only.

Or I could just play the Sonic bundle I've got from Steam sale years back, that I hardly even bother to even install anymore.

user posted image

Point is, nostalgia is nice, but you're not fleecing me for it or buying multiple versions of essentially the same copy of it, Sega. Nothing nostalgic is worth that in my book.
*
wow. you buy the bundle eh? then no point anymore for that "origin".

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Apr 21 2022, 02:11 PM)
Lost in Random, which was just added to GPU

first impression it's not bad, reminds me of the dragonball rpg card games during famicom days, your powers are solely based on RNG cards
It's a bit of slow start tho... takes a while before you gets to real battle using the cards

Tried Far: Changing Tides, an opposite of Elden Ring I must say... calm... serene, light puzzles, good for relaxing

guess I'll play this 2 games first for now...
*
Far: Changing tides good? from the score, seems like a good game, havent tried it yet (but already install in XSX). 5 hours game, might start this weekend.

GotG i play but might not stick with me. will keep it in quick resume.
FAR Changing Tide, will continue till complete... soon.

Wow. a 40GB devkit. looks like Microsoft may have consider putting 20GB ram inside the retail version. FYI that was my estimation for next gen console to last 5-7 years. imo 16GB is too small for combine ram system. 3-4 GB of it is OS & 12-13GB is for gaming not really great for 2025-27 gaming. but that was before Direct Storage technology.  tongue.gif
*
if im not mistaken, usually console devkit will have a higher spec that the finish product. PS5 devkit also have double the ram (32GB if im not mistaken). then dev need to optimize their code/game to adapt to the retail console.

i agree with you it may not really great for 2025-27 gaming. maybe gonna have another mid-gen upgrade?

rclxms.gif These type and quality of conversation here is why I immensely prefer this side of the forum. At the neighbor's side I feel like I have to ELI5 it everytime. Lots of spoonfeeding and open-mouth-feed-me-info baby birds.

maybe because at the neighbor's side is kid while here is all old timer? tongue.gif

Perhaps, but what will these baby birds grow into?

I pray it's not into people who makes policies for the country. That's how we get the current crop of politicians. Roundabout going nowhere, with no results to show. I end up improving my own self coz I know I cant depend on anyone else to do so,when it comes to self-improvement skills, be it gaming skills or life-related skills like how to survive a financially-inflated world. But then again, that's just me. Dunno.
*
that is a serious topic.
i unable to comment on that. later other people said, stick to gaming in this section. console.gif

so still with Elden Ring? or move on to another game already? or take a break?

Just seeing what I can get out of this Z13. According to its manufacturer if you look at the link, using it means I'm an astronaut in space. What bullshit nonsense hypemongering, Asus! lol.gif

1080p120 on device. 4K120 at home on eGPU.

As for what games I'm playing? I'm just finishing up FH5. Waiting for Sniper Elite 5 to drop next month on GPU. If good, buy full game on Steam. Also waiting for my email from Valve for my 512GB Steam Deck order. They pushed me from Q2 to Q3. No rush though, I'm enjoying my time with my Z13.
*
wow. what a beast! how much it cost?
oh ya, remember you able to buy steam deck. still delay... for us who unable to order, maybe 2024 only able to click "buy it now"
