both my GPU and PS+ already expired, not going to renew anymore, too expensive
I would rather put those monies into investment nowadays, yeah... age is catching up

anyway, these few months without those "free" games aren't bad actually, it forced me to have a look at my massive backlogs, and boy, there are still plenty of gems there I've started/finished

I recently moved my Xbox account to New Zealand... if I ask someone over there to redeem the code directly to my account would it work?

M$ has enable region block for payments in those stores, so your payment method need to be the native payments from those location, ie no foreign CC will be accepted
So VPN is useless in this situation

for the stores still accepting paypal like the US store, then there shouldn't be any issues buying the games using it

and for the stores still accepting gift cards, new account + VPN + gift cards reload is the way to go

So I just tried something today...

My Xbox region is set to New Zealand (because I have family there, so I am using their address). I don't know if this would work with other regions, but it did not work for me when my Xbox region was set to Singapore.

I couldn't add my credit or my PayPal account as payment methods in my Xbox, as they are identified as being in the wrong region.

So I tried the steps below and somehow it worked!

1) Used my PC to login to https://account.microsoft.com to add PayPal as a payment option
2) Go to the Xbox Store in my Series X and searched for a game (in this case Mafia Trilogy)
3) Checkout with PayPal as payment method and success!


Again, I am not sure if this is something that has been done before, but this is something new to me and I thought it was worth sharing.
