Halo 5 is firing weapon have. |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jan 6 2021, 01:25 PM) shut up and take my money!!!! Anyone here familiar with Force Feedback joysticks back in the early 2000s? I played Mechwarrior 4 with it back then. Games that supported it became more immersive. The Mechs' movement makes the joystick move side to side. Rocket salvos will jolt the stick back. Getting hit will shake the joystick in place. Some games even had resistance effects that will make the joystick harder to push. The adaptive triggers on PS5 isn't anything too unique for me personally.but then PS5 owner said prolonged period using this adaptive trigger makes finger very tiring, become less competitive in multiplayer. Did it make the game more immersive? Yes. Did it make games play better? No. Eventually I pretty much turned off force feedback for most games, because it made the games more difficult to play. |

No. Eventually I pretty much turned off force feedback for most games, because it made the games more difficult to play. it's enough you're fighting the enemies on screen, but you'll need to fight the controller as well IMO most games will totally abandon the adaptive trigger mechanism of PS5 in next few years, just like the touch pad of the DS4, during launch almost every games are using that awkward touchpad for certain elements in game, most of the time it's kinda awkward to use it PS: I broke my friend's Logitech Wingman joystick back in the days resulting from "fighting" the stick too much This post has been edited by greyshadow: Jan 7 2021, 08:42 AM |

Logitech started it with the Wingman Force. They had the Wingman Force joystick and also the Wingman Formula Force racing wheel. The technology itself was actually licensed from Immersion Corporation. If you remember, PS3 initially did not have rumble because Sony said rumble was a last gen tech and nobody wanted it. In reality they were being sued by Immersion, and they didn't want to settle. Microsoft also got sued, but they settled with Immersion.Microsoft released the Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro and Force 2. I tried it at PC Fair 2002 or 2003 I think. I think the force effects were even stronger than my Wigman Force. Despite being a good product though, I think it died because it wasn't a standard accessory that everyone owns. Unlike the PS5 Dual Sense where it's the standard stock controller. Still, I loved my time with it while it lasted. |

For me, i think it is great to have, but not a need. definitely add some fun, but maybe need better implementation. I'll have to try it my self before I can comment on it, though I still think it's more of a gimmick for now. Immersion also provided the tech behind PS5 and Switch after all. Not saying I don't want to use it, just saying that it's still a gimmick nonetheless. Having said that, if Xbox also wants to use it, maybe it can become a standard feature, just like rumble. |
