Been trying to look through the old pages, but I believe the non-taxable dividend from ASNB is still extended until further notice right? Ai, so fast another year gone and it's going to be tax season again  cry.gif

Dividends from ASNB funds are not taxable. Otherwise, rest assured there would be an uproar in Malaysia.

OPR down to 2.75%.

Expect stiffer competition for ASNB FP products as more people come over to look for high returns.

Interesting to see KLCI dip immediately after the statement is issued. Down 5 points now.

I came across this interesting article while reading Tunku Zain's opinion article.

The Bumiputra Malaysia Finance (BMF scandal)

So, you guys still trust ASNB products? tongue.gif

My confidence starts to shake... (especially when this PM is the same as the one when the scandal broke).

Also, are there any other scandals PNB was involved in apart from the BMF scandal? Or that was the last one?

what percentage of each fund is invested locally vs foreign?

QUOTE(moosset @ Feb 16 2020, 12:54 AM)
really? then really K.O. lah ....

what about EPF?? some are foreign, I think?

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Feb 16 2020, 05:08 PM)
They started going international already. Don't know percentage though
*
International holdings account for around 10% of the portfolio for ASM2 and ASM3 respectively (they only show me the equity holdings summary but not the fixed income portion, so maybe more than 10% if they hold foreign fixed income securities or other assets.)

As mentioned earlier, you can request for a summary of portfolio holdings by emailing them. It's stated in the funds' annual report. Have a look at the screenshot below (take ASM2 as example).

With regards to this OTC/private unit trading thing, just some comments.

Please be mindful that the aim of funds like those provided by ASNB is to assist the less wealthy to grow their wealth through compounding interest. Though there is nothing wrong with forming cartels and selling your units at premium, not everyone is able to fork out large cash to buy large sum of units at once, especially those B40 non-bumis who just graduated and started working.

If you just want to sell, sell it in the open market. At least some small fishes with small bullets can still survive. And this would make for a fairer way of competing for units. By trading in huge lots with additional premiums, there is very little room for the B40 to grab any remaining units in the open market and this thread (and the group) has become more of a private OTC exchange instead.

The above are just my own thoughts. In any case, please don't forget that there are people out there who can't afford huge sums in one go.

Nothing special. Just reiterating what's said in the virtual press a few days back.

EDIT: The Star also published an excerpt of an e-mail interview with PNB president and group chief executive Jalil Rasheed:

QUOTE(DatoChin @ Jun 2 2020, 05:42 PM)
For those that successful top up ASM1,2,3. Please mention your race as well.

Not to be racist or anything, but I believed the system itself set quota based on races. Therefore it is only a accurate reference by letting us know your race as well when u successfully topped up.
*
The quota is indeed based on race. It's mentioned in the prospectus and the offering documents.

For ASM1: No race restriction, for all Malaysians
For ASM2 Wawasan: 51% for bumiputera, 49% for all Malaysians
For ASM3: No race restriction, for all Malaysians

This help explains why it's much easier to obtain units for ASM, followed by ASM3 and finally ASM2, which is reflected in my portfolio (large pie of ASM, followed by ASM3 and a small share of ASM2).

I'm wondering how is it possible, first timer here, I tried putting in RM500 and click I get funds full.

After few clicking attempts they blocked me and said too many click attempts.

I wonder if I'm doing it right.
*
As others have said, right. That's the way (sad fate of being non-bumi...).

Suggest to try more, like 1k to 2k per trial. Not worth trying 500 and have to wait for whole morning and afternoon just to hit 1 or 2 times.

When the counterparty sell, they usually sell in bigger amount. Hardly anyone just sell 500 units unless it's very urgent. Just my 2 cents.
