I do hope that your RM is correct about the dividend going back to over 5% next year.  Do you think it will be reflected in this year's ASB or maybe next year's ASM1 dividend?
*
Many think that 2023 will be a recession year n only a portion of ASMx investment income depends on interest rate, the rest from equities etc.

Hi MGM, I am not a finance expert. That's why I am invested in this biggrin.gif. I can only wish that the dividend goes up.

I remember during the 97 crisis, stock market was hammered and interest rates were through the roof also.
*
In 1997, only countries with low reserve, the interest shot off the roof for short term. Our reserve is much stronger now.

why not just put all money inside Banks to get FD 4% return?
*
Cos historically ASMx always give 1 to 3% higher than FD and very difficult/tedious to buy back.
But during the Asia Financial Crisis these were the ASM2 dividend but FD were higher.
1997 10.10 - -
1998 9.80 - -
1999 8.20 - -
2000 8.80 - -
FD seems to be higher than ASMx during crisis.

*
U can transfer to anyone with similar ASMx account.

why want lost 1 month interest .. why now withdraw on 29 and put ept 29th?
*
Then i lose 1 month Dec Asm3 say 4% = 100k*4%/12=rm333.
Gain 1 month epf Jan say 5.5%=rm458.

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Jan 3 2023, 08:39 PM)
withdraw on 29 also lose 1 month interest. should withdraw on 1 i think.
*
1Jan was Sunday n JB bank opened on 2Jan. Then parked in high interest OCBC 360 til end of month b4 depositing into epf.
I get 1 month of ASM3 of rm333 + 28days ocbc365 of rm237, total of rm570 compare with rm458 shown above.

Wau, how you manage to get 700k of ASM3 last time, even at this current "sales:, I think it quite hard
*
ASM3(AS1M) was launched in 2009 without much interest, so people could buy in big quantity, over 13 years the accumulated units must have doubled.

Dividend only once 1 year right, so if you withdraw before ex date then we loose dividend right?

The calculation of the income distribution and bonus are based on the average monthly minimum balance (MMB)

Based on my rough calculation for 12 years from 2010 to 2021:
EPF dividend earned was 103% (compound)
ASM1 - 95%
USD vs MYR (3.40-4.20) - 24%
EPF only overtook ASM1 in 2019 for the accumulated earnings during this period.

ASM1 should be over 100% but thanks to lower rate past few years... It's becomes 90%++
lower 100% 😁

EPF is kinda little consistent.... So not really surprised it's over little 100%

Anyhow
Good information 👍
*
Over the same period ASM3 was ~2% better than ASM1.

Why not count average from the years ago 4 product exist? That's what i do. Coz if you coz from inception it's going to be biased coz economy then different from now. Count average from when all 4 product exist and see the average.
*
Cos ASM3 1st dividend was 2010.

QUOTE(Wolves @ Jan 19 2023, 03:32 PM)
Asm1 from 2010 to 2022 (13 years) average : 5.78%
Asm2 from 2010 to 2022 (13 years) average : 5.71%
Asm3 from 2010 to 2022 (13 years) average : 5.69%

Kwsp from 2012 to 2021 (10 years average : 6.115% (cannot find 2010 2011 2022 data)

Just for comparison. Of coz pay few years kwsp is doing better so that's why i say it's my second option coz of liquidity issue
*
I am using compounded rate from 2010. EPF 2022 dividend not finalised, so I compare them til 2021.
EPF, 2010-5.8%, 2011-6%, 2011-6.15%

Between ASM 1 2 3, which one is the best to keep among those three? I know their returns are more or less the same, but is there like maybe one is better than the other?
*
QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ Jan 31 2023, 11:52 AM)
Imho, Unker like ASM due to the allocation on Bursa stocks. Unker live Tiger Bank. But now dunno if allocation split....ASM Unker 57% split.

ASM, is the middle dividend.
