After update did a in-house flight. No issues detected.however after installing the rotor covers there is a slight screeching sound. Thought of oiling it.
Did you guys encounter the same?

DJI just announced about the "Motor Speed Error" in official DJI forum: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=214705

--------------------------------
Dear Valued Customers,

To ensure a safe and enjoyable flying experience, we have added a new safety notification feature on the Mavic Mini in the latest v01.00.0500 firmware. This new feature lets customers know when propellers need to be inspected or replaced.

【Potential Notification】 While operating their Mavic Mini, some customers may receive a notification on the DJI Fly app with the message “Motor Speed Error”

【Reason for notification】When the propellers are bent or damaged, the aircraft propulsion may be reduced and not perform as intended. The new Mavic Mini propeller safety inspection feature is capable of detecting this and sending a notification to the pilot with a “Motor Speed Error” message.

【Resolving the error notification】Please land the aircraft as soon as possible and check if the corresponding propellers are visibly damaged, bent, chipped. If the propellers are slightly misshapen, can straighten them out and retest to ensure the issue has ben resolved. If the propellers show signs of major damage, chipped or bent, please replace them before flying.

Note: To help prevent this from occurring, pilots should follow the proper storage procedure for the aircraft. For reference, please refer to the image below. Please notice the placement of the rear arm propellers. Make sure the propellers are folded horizontally so that they are not pressed down upon during transportation. Pilots are also recommended to check the aircraft propellers before every flight.

I would recommend not using the rotor covers as it restricts air to the motor coils which might overheat them

Glad it solved your problem and happy flying.  rclxms.gif

With many "motor error" solved by replacing the propeller. I have been convinced that the propeller of MM is soft & flimsy, extra care is needed.
The reason behind of the motor error is, in 1.00.5 firmware update, DJI added a mechanism to detect unusual motor speed.
An uneven prop could cause the motor to spin to the max thus trigger the error.
Interestingly, you could monitor the motor speed using "CsvVIew" after every flight, which I did it nowaday. You might try swap back the old prop and did a motor test.

Mavic Mini is so light that I do not recommend using it in windy conditions.

Spark handles better in windy conditions, mini just seems to fail in wind cos of its wafer thin props and easy to bend construction lol

Mainly because of drone weight itself. In order to get weight below 250g. They need to strip down many part and features.

Using spark you get less flying time per battery... You need more battery in order to stay longer on air.

I concur with this.

Almost lost my mini last time cuz of strong wind. Luckily it fell into some trees and bushes. Never again.

For those who's wondering if parabolic reflector is worth getting, this video may be able to give some insight.

Overall, parabolic increases range of about 10%, although at one point I manage to get 30% range increase but the video was not recorded. However, the image glitch was more apparent without parabolic reflector, especially after the 800m distance mark. I think parabolic reflector is something worth getting to reduce transmission glitch.

Thanks bro. I will order it from Shopee then.
Can't seem to find it on local shops.

Btw, regarding the screeching sound, is it still present and does it occur on all 4 motors ?
Maybe a slight adjustment would help.
