I'm more surprised TV1 & TV2 RTM have more viewership percentage shares compared with Astro Malay offerings channels...

Well, RTM is a free TV service after all. Might be all shares came from DTT & pay-TV platforms combined.

TV2, IMO, surprisingly offers decent international entertainment, be it Korean dramas & variety as well as quite the latest Hollywood blockbusters.

RTM is slowly improving... Content wise & their equipment is also fully HD compatible...

I remember see tenders published for 4K broadcasting too...

their RTM Klik 1080p bitrate still cap on 2.6Mbps.

Speaking of 4k tenders. They recently published again the 4k tender, previously they cancelled it.

You know the reason why they cancelled the previous tender??

Logically theory would be something went wrong during proposal.

SUKE TV 116 also got downgrade to SD, although it's still in 16:9

To sum it up, all private TV stations are now in SD. One exception: TV Sarawak.

TV AlHijrah is a semi-government owned channel, RTM & Bernama are government TV networks.

All the private stations (Media Prima, Awesome TV, Suke TV) gives shit (yes, shit) and unacceptable terrestrial picture quality to save operational costs (which should not happen - especially the case for Media Prima!)

SD is totally unacceptable and clearly not ethical in 2025.

For Media Prima channels, you can still watch it in HD elsewhere (ad loaded tonton livestream - which I do not recommend to use at all, Unifi TV) but for the other two - there are limited alternatives available.

But then, there are lots of bandwidth available on MUX 1 (8Mbps was cleared out because the private broadcasters wants to give shit picture quality, and nobody is expected to use the bandwidth!)

These Private Channel operators don't care if the broadcast is in SD...

Their main target is ads revenues $$$ & viewership numbers....

Some people might not even realized the difference between SD & HD... Especially those kampung people & old folks... Which is their main target....

Those kampung people and old folks will say, as long as we can watch it more then enough or what is HD all about while looking at each other 😅🔥

They're mostly clueless about all these...

Only we very particular with this SD HD thingy.... 4K broadcasting....
