A Misunderstanding: Media Prima Says NTV7 Won't Be Shutting Down To Make Way For Didik TV
https://rojakdaily.com/news/article/11652/from-spanar-jaya-to-charmed-to-sin-chan-m-sians-reminisce-shows-and-pay-tribute-to-ntv7

NTV7 is like want to shut down, but tak jadi "fully" shut down? confused.gif

Will NTV7 return once Didik TV is not needed? Or will normal NTV7 programming be aired once the Didik TV section ends?
So it is like, NTV7 is "taking a break now", by make way to Didik TV from 7am-12pm, but to be safe, the true NTV7 that we all have in mind, might be back someday?? Like that? hmm.gif

Oh, if like that, who knows TV9 might be next LOL... sweat.gif
And when that happens, Didik TV has its programming slots across 2 TV channels by Media Prima.
That way, perhaps they can use that 2 channels to airs primary school and secondary school lessons respectively (e.g. NTV7 for primary school, TV9 for secondary school), instead of "mixing everything" into the same channel, or "jumping here and there" from RTM TV Okey and Astro Tutor TV channels.

On the other note: TV3 still had the "HD" in channel ID while 8TV that recently went HD doesn't have any.

Kinda like the product of 2 eras, 1 which you show off your hd to everyone, and 1 that doesnt show it because its normalized. I can expect the channels to the same with uhd.

So the current thing is:

1. EPG would change from NTV7 to DidikTV KPM, no change in channel number
2. All existing programs that specifically has NTV7 branding would be swapped over, others don't may resume with current branding
3. The channel would be mostly education stuff

Other than that, I'd expect CJWOWSHOP would have one less channel to showing its content to.

Amirite?

Also, what about the resolution? Would they switch to HD as it's the general direction digital TV is going worldwide to abandon SD?
*

The thing is, so far I see, all live programmes shown on NTV7/Didik TV are still using SD quality cameras.

Until they deal with this, don't need to even think about them upgrading the channel to HD quality anytime soon.

Even if they can't use HD cameras, at least they should change the SD camera's display output aspect ratio to 16:9 squeeze/fit to screen (no letterbox). sweat.gif
Changing aspect ratio "doesn't cost any money". They just have to use their fingers to change the settings only. Free of charge doh.gif

Hmm, looks like they're using the very old 625 line 4:3 cameras, because the picture looks stretched.

Or they are using digital cameras, but they doesnt change the settings to have a widescreen output?

Yes. Until today, they are using the 576i SD cameras, yet they didn't change the display output to "Squeeze" 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.
Very likely because the camera production crew have simply "overlooked" or don't bother much about that at all.
It's not the first time Media Prima does that also sweat.gif

If anyone here wants to lodge a formal complaint to Media Prima or whoever it is, feel free to use the attachments shown or copy the link to these post.

Hmmmmm......

Good that KPMs DidikTV TV has taken over NTV7. It will be good if they could have more TV Pendidikan/DidikTV TV channels like someone suggested here said rent a whole mux and have up to 12 educational channels just like what Thailand is doing. And I hope this DidikTV TV/TV Pendidikan is here to stay permanently until the future even after Covid19 or Post Covid19. I hope it will be a hit with students, teachers, educationalist and education fans.

But for starters in the beginning we could have 2 DidikTV TV/TV Pendidikan channels, one for primary another for secondary.

NTV7 should return as a separate entertainment channel from DidikTV TV/ TV Pendidikan on a different channel number as an Oriental channel showing China, Taiwan, Macau Hong Kong Chinese, Korean and Japanese, Malaysian Chinese and Singaporean Chinese dramas, movies, telemovies, variety shows, shows etc because when NTV7 was with earlier Chinese programming it had huge Chinese fans and went they change their programming they lost all their Chinese fans and viewership.

Also if NTV7 returns they can air Latin American Dramas or soaps at certain time slots.

On another note besides TVS (TV Sarawak) and Go Shop Malay, It's high time for Astros' Go Shop Chinese channel and maybe Go Shop Tamil come to MYTV Myfreeview platform. Go Shop Chinese can have a full Go Shop Chinese Channel whereas Go Shop Tamil slots can piggyback on some other channel. Maybe later on we can have a whole channel by itself for Go Shop Tamil.

Also, I think Astro's Hits TV and Fam TV should come to MYTV Myfreeview platform too.

Absolutely agreed. If we can email to Media Prima to re-air ntv7 as a separate Modern Malaysia TV Channel like in 2018, we can.

But to my opinion, ntv7 need to acquire to air Malay Dramas from Singapore and bring Indonesian Dramas to ntv7, so that not just the Malays but the multilingual viewers.

Sidenote, this is my first post by myself, Wan Muhammad from Singapore.

You're from which part of Singapore? You can receive all Malaysian digital TV channels, right?

Are you able to receive Indonesian TV channels too?

Ohh... Unable to receive.... hmm.gif hmm.gif

I'm interested to help you as much as I can, to be able to receive Malaysian digital TV channels hahaha...
And what you mean "unable to receive all Malaysia digital TV channels yet"? You mean you receive only some Malaysian TV channels or how?

And what antenna and digital TV box model are you using? If can, show us a photo of where you place your antenna.

Btw, frequencies for Johor Bahru is 682MHz (CH47) and 650MHz (CH43). Do try to manual scan these 2 frequencies, if you haven't la... biggrin.gif

Not just them. There are many companies that still stick to 4:3. Remember when widescreen tv was new? Majority of people just stretched the display instead of black pillarbox.
I don't even crop cinemascope movies. If i have 16:9 screen, I watch it with black letterbox. Always maintain the aspect ratio that the director has intended.

No. As you can see, all channels from RTM and Media Prima are already in 16:9.

Even Didik TV is in 16:9 but however, the video call image was stretched from 4:3. It seems that they did not properly configure everything in 16:9 aspect ratio.
