QUOTE(Wobblyblob @ Nov 19 2020, 07:43 PM) I know some Net Radio stations are unlicensed, if they want to broadcast on DV-T2 Lite and DAB+ then they should be licensed for those frequencies. To match FM coverage more transmitters are required. The existing batch of transmitters operated by MYTV (44 transmitters nationwide) is not enough.TV Pendidikan should broadcast as a separate channel by itself on MYTV Myfreeview platform rather than piggyback on other channels. This way more information, knowledge, education, curriculum and syllabus can reach the intended target audience whom are students. WoW Shop Chinese shows nowadays so boring, not like back in 2015 - 2018. Back between 2015 - 2018 WoW Shop Chinese shows were interesting. I noticed they started to become boring in mid 2020. I hope Wow Shop Chinese can produce better shows. QUOTE(Candy12 @ Nov 19 2020, 10:23 PM) Bring in the regional non country specific Free to Air channels to Malaysian digital TV. Unlikely to get these additions. They're all already aired FREE and live on the internet with no region LOCK. NHK World TV Arirang World CGTN Channel News Asia Earth TV Live (One of the best music background) |

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Dec 15 2020, 09:42 PM) If I remember correctly anyone could register by using their phone number and email. There will be free 1 month preview of premium channels, after that only standard TV channels + selected news channels will be accessible. Unifi subscribers will usually get more channels however.QUOTE(JohnLai @ Dec 15 2020, 09:18 PM) Hmm.......last time the DTV Subtitle doesn't on Openbox V8 Pro and I was forced to buy GTmedia v7 Plus just for the subtitle. Not sure, you may need to check out yourself.Wonder if the update on the DTT transport stream will enable V8 Pro to properly display the subtitle? ![]() TVS broadcasts on 1080i (HD) and on MUX 1. Video bitrate likely on 4Mbps while audio is on the pathetic HE-AAC V2 32Kbps. This is the first time that significant amount of Astro in house promos can be seen on outside Astro. Wait for @joshhd for more information This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Feb 6 2021, 06:42 AM |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 6 2021, 10:20 PM) Malaysia Digital TV Bitrate Check Looks like the activation of MUX 3 will become possible in the future if the available TV channels keeps adding, as both MUX 1 (Commercial TV/Radio channels) and MUX 2 (RTM/Government TV/Radio channels) will soon become full with channels. I don't understand the uneven bitrates for video and audio channels despite being operated by single operator.6 Feb 2021 MUX 1: 666MHz (Channel 45) ![]() Video bitrate: HD = 4.1Mbps SD = 2.1Mbps Audio bitrate for TV & radio channels: HE-AAC v2 32kbps Stereo MUX 2: 650MHz (Channel 43) ![]() Video bitrate: HD = 3.65Mbps (CBR 3.5Mbps, according to MediaInfo) SD = 2.1Mbps Audio bitrate for RTM TV channels: HE-AAC 48kbps Stereo Audio bitrate for RTM radio channels: HE-AAC 112kbps Stereo Radio services won't take much space though even with 96kbps HE-AAC /128kbps LC-AAC. But the reality is 32kbps is used and quite poor HD quality. Imagine just a few years back, even MUX 1 was half empty as TV operators doesn't have the initiative for providing more TV channels. With new operators and channels (Awesome TV/TVS/RTM digital channels/Drama sangat), more shopping channels (Wow shop/GO shop) and HD upgrades, things are looking more different than ever with 31 TV and audio channels on free DTT. Obviously residents living in the border get more channels. This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Feb 7 2021, 12:48 AM |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 7 2021, 12:56 AM) How about you? Are you able to receive Indonesian digital TV channels in your house at JB area, using outdoor 14-E antenna or something? Unfortunately, my area has too weak reception for Indonesian FM. So I worry it won't work in my area. May buy an antenna soon to test. joshhd liked this post

QUOTE(surrodox2001 @ Feb 12 2021, 12:55 AM) Bitrate check from joshhd to be followed i guess? MUX 1 : Enough bitrate for with some extra radio stations + just 1 extra SD channel/1 channel to be convert into HDps: Apologies if my ping causes problems with you, but it'll be interesting to see how much bandwidth they left after this conversion to HD. MUX 2 : Enough bitrate for up to 3 SD channels/1 HD channel + 1 SD channel plus some radio channels. Both MUXes are almost full now (1 MUX has around 34Mbps bitrate). So, MUX 3 is expected to coming soon (that will require advance information for rescan STB/TV) or cause chaos like before, where RTM channels move MUX, moreover with possible addition of channels. Gone were the days where even MUX 1 is half empty due to lack of interest from TV operators. This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Feb 12 2021, 02:46 AM |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 12 2021, 02:46 AM) That's because TV operators those days aren't so "confident" about MYTV Broadcasting yet. Plus there's a few other new TV operators, where it is largely unknown by the public, yet no official launch date is announced. Some ramp up of bitrates should improve video/audio quality, but financially it would be not advantageous to MYTV as they can sell more slots. So they rather stick to such low bitrates instead as they will have more slots by doing so.Btw based on the figure earlier, how about increasing bitrate to improve A/V quality? 😆 This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Feb 12 2021, 04:29 AM |

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Feb 13 2021, 01:01 AM) I guess, in my early understanding: Really, many questions.1. Astro and unifi TV customers can only watch the supposed "DidikTV KPM" channel as a preview via ntv7, hence not getting the 17-hour channel for both pay-TV services instead. Especially for Astro, cuz yeah they've got their own Tutor TV though. 2. IDTV users will get the channel, but those who cucuk myFreeview decoder on old TV sets cannot. I'm dizzier when typing this. I also wonder what will happen on the NTV7/DidikTV KPM channel on 17 Feb. How about the existing programs on the channel? (News slots, some informative programming, Running Man) Where will these programmes go? How about the playout? Will it handled by Media Prima playout centre on Sri Pentas/Glenmarie? How about the ownership structure? Will it be a JV between Media Prima/Ministry of Education or slot renting from Media Prima? How about the fate of the NTV7 channel? Rescan is not supposed to be needed as it will automatically appear on the NTV7 slot. This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Feb 13 2021, 01:55 AM |

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Feb 16 2021, 12:30 PM) It seems like some of ntv7 programming will be retained, even after the launch of DidikTV KPM channel tomorrow. Just heard that while I tuned to that channel but I had missed the final startup of NTV7 due to someone in the house messing up the recorder. It includes talk shows; like Topik@7 and Trio On Point. Meanwhile for news services, Edisi7 will be rebranded as Buletin Didik. |

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Feb 16 2021, 07:40 PM) Probably will be the final TV broadcast of ntv7’s 7Edition tonight. Afterwards, it will go as a digital content hub, as you can see the description of 7Edition’s (was ntv7 news) YouTube page. Well, it is possible.![]() https://youtube.com/channel/UCQI9ZdFTDu4m_R_EdC2bNjw And it was the final edition of 7 Edition on TV (which I obviously recorded it), as announced by the newsreaders. Sadly there is no longer any primetime English news on TV (except the 10pm one on Berita RTM (only available on MYTV DTT) This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Feb 16 2021, 09:04 PM doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 16 2021, 11:22 PM) Seems like you are the owner of this YouTube channel? Not me, which is another online user. I would usually record off Set top box. But this is a good software recommendation which can be used in the future. Why not use OBS? https://obsproject.com/ P.S: There will be no watermark if you use OBS, and it's a free software This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Feb 16 2021, 11:27 PM |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 16 2021, 11:29 PM) Yes... Record directly from set-top-box / receiver is definitely the best option, as it will capture the same exact quality of the broadcast. All. But I use a third party STB to record as MYTV STB can't record.Btw right now are you using the MYTV digital TV box, or some third party DVB-T2 boxes? Or only IDTV?
