I am looking to purchase Airpods Pro or Sony WF1000XM4 but I am a little confused between both.

Price point is about the same on 11.11 sale.

Anyone used or compared both?

two questions:
1) is sound quality REALLY important to you?
2) how many apple devices are you using?

because while the XM4s offer really great sound (9.5/10) and great noise cancellation mode, the AirPods Pro offer really good sound (8.5/10) but has the best transparency mode on the market, spatial audio (aka virtual surround sound / Dolby Atmos), plus easy pairing and switching with all your apple devices

so pick the XM4s if:
1 - the most important thing to you is great sound. no other feature even comes close
2 - you would use noise cancellation mode more than transparency mode (ie. using them indoors while being mostly stationary)
3 - you will mainly use it with a single apple device

and pick the AirPods Pro if:
1 - you like great sound, but its not a hard requirement (ie. really good sound but not the best is acceptable)
2 - you would use tranparency mode over noise cancellation mode (ie. using them outdoors while out and about)
3 - you regularly use two or more apple devices (ie. phone, watch, Mac)
4 - you watch a lot TV shows and Movies using apps that support Dolby Atmos

I think AirPods Pro still has really good microphones for calls.
Like me, my AirPods Pro is only for calls. I don’t even use it for music.
If you really enjoy good music, TWS wise, you can’t beat Sony XM4.

on Shopee their sister retailer SenQ is selling the newer model with Magsafe case for 774 after RM 5 off voucher. when i ordered, it said sold out but i was still able to add to cart in the app and check out

try talking to their customer service and ur brain will get fried. Since yesterday morning I kept asking them if it's really the magsafe charging case version and not the old wireless charging case version and they cant confirm. Then after pushing told me twice that it's the old version with wireless charging case, so i asked why the product page still list magsafe case? They refuse to reply me, twice. But till now the product page still list as magsafe, if it arrives and it's the old version better complain to shopee and make sure they send the correct model

Just return the item if the send you the old version and wait for 12.12 offer.

Lol that sounds like either a false advertisement or just bad CS doesn’t know their product well..did you end up buying it? can return and refund if it’s not MagSafe but going to be troublesome..

If it’s the older version then I will definitely file a complaint to shopee about them making false advertisement

What worries me is that even the recent reviews on the product page all show the older charging case version, so I was sceptical and msg the cs but they are totally clueless. I went ahead and bought 1 anyways so just pray for the best lol

have you tried asking them what is the Apple Part ID / SKU Number for it? They have a different one for each time they release something, even the same thing - eg. the space black milanese loop had the ID MLJJ2ZA/A when they released it as 38mm and MTU12FE/A when they re-released it as 40mm (even though it's the same item).

for AirPods Pro with Wireless Charging Case, the part ID should be MWP22AM/A.

for AirPods Pro with MagSafe Charging Case, the part ID should be MLWK3AM/A.

try only asking them what is the part ID of the Apple product they're selling without mentioning anything else and see what they reply. however, keep in mind it might not match the above for US-sold vs Internationally-sold Apple products

just did some more research - on Apple Malaysia, the model with Wireless case part had the part number MWP22ZA/A and the newer model with MagSafe case has the part number MLWK3ZA/A.

senQ on Lazada seems to be selling the older model as their listing contains the part number APP-MWP22ZA/A

however, there is no mention of any part number on the listing by SenHeng on Lazada so let's hope it's the newer one since they mention MagSafe
