cheap or not it depends on how far it will outperform Core architecture in many ways.

haha.. then just upgrade now.

I don't think K10 will be cheap. It is not worth to buy new product when it just release.

So, upgrade next year.. with DDR3 tongue.gif

when quad amd comes out then have to change mobo right? .

some say to be safe better buy intel with p35 mobo, then can change from cd2 to quad. AMD mobo can also like that? What about ddr2 to ddr3?

but AMD very cheap can save money to buy Graphic Card. but some say OC AMD can get very hot?

sorry for noob question.

im planning to buy a new pc system mainly for gaming and media stuff but getting headaches over which to buy; intel or AMD...

dont know whether to wait another 3 months or just buy from pc fair...

another 3 mths will definitely cheaper due to newer products releases.
But are you sure that you won't be tempted to get those newer products? tongue.gif

I think when u overclocking any proc its gonna have an increase of temperature. You have to weigh your options and look at your budget. Well from the budget point of view, the best option would be AMD because of its performance price ratio. And i believe you dont have o get ddr3 now, because its still very very new, its too expensive to be drooling over it. Wait for a few months for the ram to mature and become cheaper then get it.

Well about buying now or later, its a choice you have to make. If you do want a reference guide on what to get most from the budget you have check goldfries signature. He has an awesome guide thumbup.gif

3 months is for X4 only. I'd rather see how X2 performs.

If X4 is LAWLOHMYF'KINGAWDBEATSPENRYN, prepare to save up cash to buy Core 2 Quads in garage sales. laugh.gif

Otherwise, wait for the new X2s in 2008. They will bring at AMD archis to at least par, or even faster than C2Ds clock by clock. The dual-core section is still here to stay, and Penryn Duo would have a hard time being priced low when there's so much Conroe stocks not yet dumped. tongue.gif

In short: Buying now is the best. You get to use a PC for 6 months. That's priceless laugh.gif
