NVIDIA Geforce 7000M is shared memory means it is a integrated gpu ..but it's performance are better off than GMA950 and also Geforce Go 6150 ..

8600m is independent memory and is dedicated meaning the performance is far superior than 7000 ..

nevertheless this lappy is a nice buy ..nice price and decent spec for mild gamers .

Still on warranty ? If yes then try take it back to Highpoint for a replacement. But cracked LCDs are not eligible to be replaced even you are on warranty. The price for the LCD is around rm490 plus highpoint service and labour rm100 it makes it around 600rm. Hope this helps

Any burnt marks on the mbo or any of the circuit found inside the notebook that is within the warranty period will void the warranty. This applies to PC and also notebooks. Usually engineers will troubleshoot and also take pictures as reference to customer if they want to view it. Try ask the Service Centre to show you where this burnt mark is on your mbo and also try request for extend warranty since u say no confidence as so fast burnt hehe.

nope that's an infrared transmitter. The remote receiver uses infrared too. But i dunno why Acer disabled this infrared in the bios. Thus users will not be able to enable of view the infrared details.
