QUOTE(TOS @ Mar 20 2023, 01:10 PM) Do share with us the response from IBKR. Try to confirm with them if Giro is really free... ibkr absorbs any wire fees for 1st xfers per month... its the banks that charges inward receiving... giro no receiving charges for my banks... should also be same for sg... QUOTE(joeblow @ Mar 20 2023, 01:04 PM) Many thanks for the tips. I will do a transfer after IB replies me. I think many of us investors just pump money into IB, there will come a good we need to take back the money for retirement and find the cheapest way. SG bank charging money for receiving bank via SWIFT or international transfer just sucks. If amount too big also subject to audit. withdraw a little bit eur to wise... spend some in eur, convert/spend some in myr... receiving eur via sepa xfer no fee for Wise or any European financial services it is common established practice for banks to charge inward receiving swift wire... even wise does it... blame the swift network... last week i found out my wifu has a rhb mca w/debit card... she kept some paper gold there... so much secrets... lol... friday 10pm i test wire not from ibkr 1 kusd to her... today 3pm she got it 1 kusd... super good news... no intermediary bank fee... no inward receiving fee (already know from bank t&c)... also rhb fx so much better than wise now... i get rm 4471... no other fees... wise now charging $2 for receiving ach... used to be free... gets only rm 4445... rm 26 less so i think rhb method is the best for now... btw rhb charges rm20 for this mca debit card/fx rate... normal debit card is rm 8 or 12 but you don't get this best fx rate... the mca is also interest bearing, for now 4.5% for usd... https://www.rhbgroup.com/treasury-rates/mul...osit/index.html

QUOTE(Super2047 @ Mar 20 2023, 10:34 PM) Bro, From your experience, when should we use Wise and when should we use RHB MCA? Wise digital card can be created and deleted after use... best security for your account... sending fx around is easier... sending money to Ibkr is cheaper... opening account easier... RHB can save money when bringing money back... earns interest for some ppl... paywave works (just guessing ... no evidence against unlike Wise) This post has been edited by dwRK: Mar 20 2023, 11:31 PM

QUOTE(Takudan @ Mar 26 2023, 03:05 PM) Just did this yesterday. Had a bit of technical issue like the fee wouldn't load after inputting "send" and "receive" fields so I had to refresh page several times -- I think it's just because I was doing this on a weekend where IBKR is known to be unstable/in maintenance.. but idk. This feature isn't available on mobile app; you have to use browser (I think it says desktop but phone browser worked for me). I didn't have to change my account default currency to proceed with the transfer. Contrary to the photo ETA, I haven't actually received it on IBKR (status Pending) but Wise already deducted my money, presumably because IBKR services are unavailable on the weekends. In Wise, my money was deducted immediately. 0 fee because no conversion needed... This amount is sitting in my EUR Wise account, it was my travel money leftover hahaha. Shame that they don't allow decimal transfer so now I have 70 cents left in my account... sepa transfer has always been zero fees... I've used it a few times

QUOTE(Takudan @ May 9 2023, 09:21 PM) https://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/internalization.aspI can understand that they'll probably earn more by selectively buy/sell from their own inventory of shares... But what's the effect for me ya? So far I've only used Limit Order to buy/sell shares .. slippages... you can get filled at lower prices than your limit buy order during big moves in your favor... but now they get first choice to grab the lower price and re sell to you at your price pocketing the small gains... do this enough is big money

QUOTE(TOS @ May 9 2023, 09:41 PM) They claim they must provide "best execution" oooo... If there is a lower price, "best execution" would mean they fulfill our limit buy order first directly instead of grabbing it then reselling it to us, no? i dun know what 'best execution' means must learn to read past all the buzz words... a lot of times its all kosong... they have to define what it is... anyways i was responding to your market maker comment n followup response... i on phone so didnt read the link as i not set up to download pictures... just guessing what is happening...

QUOTE(TOS @ May 9 2023, 07:00 PM) IBKR is now trying to act like a market maker... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « ok i read your link... so if they mean well... what this means is they will settle any trades internally first before sending out to say, nyse... so if you wanna buy at 100... and some other ibkr guy wanna sell at 98... they let you have it at 98 first... before pushing any outstanding orders to nyse... typically both 98, 100 gets push to nyse and gets settle on nyse's order book... if this is what they meant then is good for customer

QUOTE(leo2010 @ May 12 2023, 06:05 PM) Can we remit foreign currencies (eg. USD or SGD) from Wise to MCA account in MY without conversion to MYR ? QUOTE(TOS @ May 12 2023, 11:49 PM) This I have never tested before, don't have local MCA account either. But I know dwRK and others have local MCA account and Wise. Maybe they can share their experience? can. but wise will use swift network and charge you swift transfer fees... they cannot use their cheap local deposit method into mca...

QUOTE(TOS @ May 24 2023, 12:21 PM) 6. How much is the fee for undrawn revolving credit? (for REITs investors, there are charges for obtaining a revolver credit facility from banks, but not sure how much the banks charge) usually no fee but usually ppl will also have a term credit, and the revolving amount relatively small to it... also you have a banker assigned... and you pay a fee for managing the loans... anyways, corporate loans t&c all negotiated... so depends...
