Once Ozark is done this week , is there any Netflix shows that worth waiting for release?
More anticipated with their movies - Knives Out 2, The Gray Man (Ryan Gosling action vehicle), Pinnochio (GDT's passion project). As for series - Florida Man (Ozark's Jason Bateman follow-up), Peaky Blinders, The Crown, The Sandman (Neil Gaiman's masterpiece comic book) and maybe Witcher:Blood Origin. Only time will tell if any break out shows/movies that go viral.
Ozark finale was ok and fitting. Glad they ended otherwise the continuation will be overreaching. I won't rate it as the best ever but still pretty darn good. Let's hope they don't resurrect this quickly or an inconsequential spinoff. Shall see will Florida Man able to repeat the success of Jason Bateman show running another crime drama.
New LD+R is better than season 2. It felt more experimental and really don't know what Voodoo magic they use on episode 2 and episode 9. The 3D style and rendering really blurring what's real or not. It starts strong, the middle episodes a bit repetitive from what have been done beforehand. The very last episode ends on a high note.
On the Bad Travelling episode, this is as close as you can get watching what a David Fincher horror movie looks like. It may employed an exaggerated appearance on the character designs, the 3D rendering and performance capture is mind boggling real as reality. The balance of horror and tension is very well done. It's my favourite episode by far.
Lord Morpheus is here!!! Don't expect this to be Harry Potter or conventional superhero. It's about God of Dream. It's his self discovery journey. It's more like American Gods where deity interacts with normal human. Kinda like adult fairytales.
Spiderhead is a misfire. It's your usual unethical science research on unsuspected Guinea pig. Nothing memorable and Chris Hemsworth cannot act like his life depends on it. He is really a himbo only destined to play Thor forever.
Hustle is very good. Yes it's another Adam Sandler's dramatic role. You know he is an amazing straight actor. While this is not as intense as Uncut Gems, you can see him putting massive pull to make this highly enjoyable sports movie. Good story with good cast.
Stranger Things 4 finale 2.5 hours doesn't seems long with a good plot and pacing, fantastic finale and OMG that's one mega huge cliffhanger there
Lets hope they release S5 as mini-series style with each episode in movie length can't wait for it
Show some love to The Boys. By any metric Umbrella Academy and Stranger Things cannot touch The Boys with a ten foot pole. Season 3 has reached the weekly GOT must watch status. It gets better with every episode.
6x40++ episodes. You don't have to binge as each episode is self contained. Yes it's another OP Edgelord anime but it's from 90's. Remember back then Katsuhiro Otomo produced Spriggan movie after his success with Akira. It's not the greatest but definitely a class above than your usual Netflix anime. The last episode is a banger. Let's see will there be a second season.
Surprised to see they are putting out second season.
The Grayman - Sigh! This is an average spy/assassin caper. None of the action pieces memorable. Russo brothers need to stop emulating Marvel dumb bantering into a spy thriller. They are not witty but just eye rolling cringe. Thought I can watch Jessica Hemwick kick butt, you get her as forgettable side character. Ana Deamas ready to be a female action star. See how well she can be next on John Wick spinoff Ballerina. No complain about Ryan Gosling just terrible script and uninspiring film directing from the Russos. Chris Evans very cartoonish villain.
Can i say the artsy version of John Woo the killer
I am no Fincher fan per se but this looks like an interesting premise on an already existing old-fashioned assassin/sniper story beats hahahaha
Just started to read the source material. It's kinda House of Cards story. Realistic spy craft with complex intertwining plot about government in cahoot with criminal kingpin. The assassins behaves more like spy operative in a John LeCarre novel. It has a lot of social commentary on how eff up the society and how to survived a layered conspiracy. More mind games than straight up action.
Kill Boksoon pretty awesome! I was hesitant to watch it cause thought it gonna be a lame rip-off of Kill Bill. It's more than that and really like the fresher ideas being introduced in the plotline. On top of that the restaurant fight scene quite impressive to watch. Also liked how the mother and daughter story being played out.
WTF Netflix???!!! Wes Anderson dropping 4 short films of Roald Dahl's famous short story. You promote only one.
Henry Sugar has a runtime of 40ish minutes. It's a good bite size without going overboard with Anderson's quirky signature. Being a Roald Dahl story you know the wholesome payoffs. Cumberbatch is the perfect Henry Sugar. Richard Aoyade even make a cameo. It's a lot of fun to watch.
Ballerina - Not to be mistaken with John Wick's spinoff that starred Ana DeArmas next year. This is a Korean revenge thriller that pretty much forgettable. It doesn't know what it wants, at times it rip-off of "You Were Never Here" but without the seriousness of it. On action department "Kill Boksoon" is much more entertaining. Another pointless Netflix movie.

So Naoki Urasawa's Pluto has dropped. To the non mange reader. Don't be fooled thinking this is an Astroboy remake. The story may take awhile to unravel, the mystery is really potent. This is pretty much the same deliberate slow paced thriller of Urasawa masterpiece Monster. Give this a try and perhaps you walk away with your mind blown.
