QUOTE(dattebayo @ Jul 6 2007, 02:52 PM) its shock to see the Ultra get choked at 25 fps with 4xAA on That's one reason why it is advisable not to get a DX10 card yet. However, I still think the drivers are still not yet optimized and these early games do not take full advantage of DX10 capabilities/features. Maybe crysis will give a better picture? This post has been edited by kmarc: Jul 6 2007, 03:27 PM |

Like to add that even tho we CAN play Crysis on DX9 mode, it beats the purpose of getting the game in the first place. To see the kick ass DX10 effects.

You won't missing anything much though on DX9. The cryEngine 2 itself is already impressive piece of work. |

well.. i would suggest getting a matured DX10 hardware
how to define matured.. for example.. in directx9 for ATI the first card is radeon 9700 and X1950XT is the last in the DX9 range of hardware. and for nvidia, geforcefx is DX9 in its first form and 7900GTX is the last or was it called matured DX9 card. for ati/nvidia, it takes abt 3 generations of their range of cards for DX9 to reach where it is now. But lets say I'm gonna be buying a new pc anyways, it's better to get a DX10 card than to go for a DX9 card right? How long more till DX9 gets phased out?

Aero is rendered in DX9. You don't need to get DX10 card to enable it/

Until theres no buggy Vista or Drivers.. Maybe year end till NVidia come something better... Cheaper alternatives is getting game consoles This post has been edited by zeustronic: Jul 6 2007, 05:11 PM |
