The problem is how you going to install?

even you successfully installed, then you ota upgrade EMUI in future may brick your phone

You can use the 4.2k phone for 2G calls mar. Can still surf using browser. Can use it as an music player. Or use it as a paper weight.

wow, as a huawei fan i kinda bummed bout this one. design wise, big notch is one thing, but no 90hz screen, no stereo speakers?

looks like they abandon the 'mate' series persona(media consumption), and now focus on photography, which is 'p' series persona...

ive use previous mate 10 and 20pro bought in china. so far no issues. all u need to do is install a google playstore and it works just like an outside china set

Mate30 using open source android, google wont give any support or update.

yes... it wont work as well..

android updates is very important as well

u can sideload apps.. but when it comes to long term support.. is effectively dead

It so unprofessional of hua wei comparing with other phone openly. and their CEO english. OMG.. my ear bleed when he start to present the phone. Bad marketing strategy to push yourself to look like a market leader.

but mate10 and mate 20 still officially supported by google..

u dont need to be a language expert to be no.1 in the market. the world always welcome competitive products. no one should dominate a product segment. this happens in apple 10yrs ago selling product with 80% profit in their pocket. now they r no longer competitive to samsung/huawei

i dont understand, because any phone u get in china also not supported by google. as android is a free to use platform, how can mate30 not be eligible for installing google

the reason it work well with previous Mate was because it still officially supported by google..

Android is open source..but google apps are not..

Open Source Andoird is free to use but not to google apps.

For mate 20 or earlier, huawei is paying to google for their service & licensing support
