GMS is really easy to install on a new out of box Huawei.
No need to downgrade firmware, just straight run googlefier once u get the phone. I did it with my buyer <20minutes although we are both first timer.

My office colleague have another new n sealed in box Mate30pro 5g to let go. PM and get nice priceeeeee

can, but as long as ur firmware is compatible then can use.
the unit is sold is new from the sealed box so the firmware version was 10.x.x.x.x (forget the number), it's compatible, so can straight install gms then use as per normal, can update apps thru playstore too

I'm using GMS and can search/download petal maps from AppGallery. And i find that Petal maps works faster than Google maps and even have Navigation, works great too!

It's like always on display, but this will only light up when it detects you looking at the screen, pretty smart feature.

So if anyone looking at the screen it also will light up?

Then this function may drain the battery even faster.

Maybe it relies on the infrared sensor that's also used for the face unlock, that way it will only detect the face that is saved on the device

This is also why EOD won't be available on many devices, only on devices with infrared sensor on the front. Aside from Mate 40 series, the P40 series and Mate 30 series should be the only ones that will have the feature on EMUI 11.

How is the stability of the GMS installed this way?

If let's say in the future we update the phone, does the GMS dissappear?

I still talk to my buyer recently to discuss on the huawei as both of us are fans of it hahaha.
he say he can update the apps thru Playstore and can upgrade his emui OS. so no issue for him.
most of the apps that he uses daily can be found in Huawei Appstore but only certain games/app is not available so he dl from playstore.

but overall, no complaints from him yet.

I've been using Mate30Pro for 2 months now (with GMS) and so far very pleased with the smoothness, speed and also battery (average 8.5hr SOT). Also the 3D face unlock is the prime reason I still stick with this phone, can just double tap and voila unlocked in the middle of night.

There are few drawbacks though

- Battery from 20% onwards drop crazily fast and the phone will shutdown at 2%, it's the same across all Huawei lineup I guess
- Heavy smile.gif
- Mono bottom firing speaker (sigh)

i dont think so.
even though Biden win Presidency (if he wins), Google wont back to Huawei soon.
if at the end USA will give license to Huawei, there will be after few years...probably we are looking at Mate 60 and above??

Fully on data, the SOT will be lesser. At 19% u get 6+ hours is consider not bad. I guess at 2% u will get 7+ hours.
