For me, lian li classic looks should be maintained but in the meantime, i think lian li also realized that not everyone goes for the classic looks and those portion of the market is lost to other casing makers. Lian Li comes out with slightly radical looks judging from the new models line up on their website to suit the taste or the preference of others. I think if car manufacture Volvo still maintain its boxy looking cars, it wouldn't sell as much unit as it's selling right now...Look at Volvo now, even i'm considering Volvo over City as my first car if not because of its price tag!!

I applaud Lian Li going into another design but still maintain its classy looks. PC-7S to me is not too bad la....not really fugly, but the silver/black theme can do better. icon_rolleyes.gif

oops.gif, wait a minute... doh.gif, damn it... vmad.gif this is Casing & Modifications section, not Automotive shakehead.gif

anyway, i like LianLi because it's affordable with a good design... A70a brows.gif blush.gif

On the other hand, I feel that Lian Li should maintain their signature "classic" monolith look rather than try to go bling.

Their cost structure ain't all that great since they're made in Taiwan while the many hundreds of other brands/stickers/manufacturers are going with the bling bling direction.

In terms of cars, this will be like Ferrari trying to appeal to the mass boyracer crowd but coming out with a Ferrari 1.6litre hatchback. Sure they'll sell more but purist won't buy the more profitable high ends anymore.

Look at Coolermaster for instance, they used to be uber 1337 with the ATCS range but then they decide to dillute the brand by going mainstream.

It's especially strange that while everyone is trying to upsell...and the ones that have the brand and reputation decide to downsell pulak.~

Silverstone on the other hand being a newcomer sticks to their guns and look at them now, in terms of prestige.. they're all the way up there...commanding a premium price.

Put it this way lar... ppl want BMW because it's expensive. Being expensive means they have more room to offer more tech, better material and cool stuffs. Everyone complaints too expensive and unaffordable.

If today BMW come out with at Rm40K car.... people will still buy it but subsequent generations/brand will suffer as a whole.

Back to casing....I still think that LL's should have less but targetted models and not try to please everyone

hmm I can't comment much on their target market group since I don't work for them ..

but I do think that it would be nice to have adequate design for all three categoriy of customer. Low, Mid and High ...

so far Lian Li case only goes up to Mid range ... I have yet to see any LL case that really built with absolute quality ..

True... only the V series comes close to that.

I don't work for them too but design and tooling both cost resources/money, so it's better for them to use them wisely.

Over the past couple of years, the impression from the product range that lian li's giving is that they don't have a clear direction... trying to appeal to everyone.

That's exactly the tell-tale sign of the decline when CM started using a robot logo for the Stacker. Appealing to the mass market of 12year olds with no money but with lotsa competitions from TT's to Raidmax to NXZT to those no brand stickered cases.

looking at the G7 A07 and 007.

the only difference between the cases are the front panel and the HDD bay....everything else is the same... if only lian li would sell the front panel and hdd cage seperately...then theyll come one step close to satisfying everyone.

people can choose which front panel, which hdd cage they want.

actually imho they should just abolish the hdd cage in the 007. vibrates like mad

Quick question about the EX-33, can the filter be removed for cleaning without having to remove the whole unit?

Ok so basically everytime you do it, you have to realign the unit with the bezel face eh. Bah, I was hoping for an easier route considering how much it costs. laugh.gif
