I plan to watch all. Haha! and yup very good.

Now on the way to finish Batman Hush.

I don't have The Death of Superman and Reign of the Superman.

But I have The Death and Return of Superman, probably will watch it tomorrow.
I think this is the same film as above two as the summary said The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen now presented as an over two-hour unabridged and seamless animated feature.

By the mean time, I had finish Superman Doomsday This is so so, I give it 3 Star.
Frank speak the human look is kind of ugly in this animation. Haha!

Just finish watch Batman Hush - 3.5 Star.

Great storyline but I dislike this kind of animation where they draw the thing not sharp but a little bit blur blur most the time.
This part make me give lower scores a bit than suppose 4 star as it make me feel tired watching it.

Cold Creek Manor (2003)

Director: Mike Figgis

Starring: Dennis Quaid, Sharon Stone, Stephen Dorff, Juliette Lewis, Kristen Stewart, Christopher Plummer

Genre: Drama, Mystery, Thriller

Okay, I am actually a fan of Dennis Quaid.

Not so much of Sharon Stone.

This movie does not be familiar to many a person.

Honestly, in 2003, when I read/heard the title, I thought it was a horror movie.

Turns out to be not horror but a thriller.

This has a very young Kristen Stewart.

The plot line is basically, what if you bought a house from a bank auction, you move in, and the previous owner is NOT too happy with it...

Director Mike Figgis did not do much after this movie (Mainly in documentary)

Direction is actually decent.

Plot is good

Most of the actors did their part.

One important role was badly cast, and it is the role of the wife, Leah Tilson, played by Sharon Stone, who is quite rightly named.

She does not come acrossed as motherly... good wifey... etc.

The deleted scenes did show that originally, the intention was for her role to go another direction, and in the editing, they wanted she to come acrossed more... sympathetic, and have to add, I did not find it convincing...

And also in the deleted scene, I like the alternative ending better than what was the ed result, C'est la vie.

So, people like ratings here...

I will give this a 2.9 out of a 5

Watched this on 1080p

Video 3 out of 5
Sound is 3.5 out of 5

Along Came a Spider (2001)

Director: Lee Tamahori

Stars: Morgan Freeman, Michael Wincott, Monica Potter, Mika Boorem, Anton Yelchin

Genre: Drama, Thriller

Who here does not like Morgan Freeman, here?

Okay, granted, he was in movies like Olympus Has Fallen etc, and have to add everyone's got to eat... sweat.gif

It is investigative.

It has a VERY young Anton Yelchin (whom I did not recognized).

You feel for the little girl who got kidnapped.

Morgan Freeman plays the FBI investigator, Alex Cross who is trying to rescue her from the kidnapper and then THAT happened?

Again one of the little gems that got lost in the crowd, that I feel deserves some mention.

I rated this a 3.5 out of 5

I watched this in 1080p

Video is actually 4 out of 5 (I really like the depth of the picture here)
Sound is 3.5 out of 5

Date Movie (2006)

Directors: Aaron Seltzer, Jason Friedberg

Stars: Alyson Hannigan, Adam Campbell, Fred Willard, Sophie Monk, Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie anyone?)

This movie is a satiric look at... comedies??

Namely,

Shallow Hal (2001)
Meet the Parents (2000)
Dodgeball (2004)
Meet the Fockers (2004)
Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)
Hitch (2005)
My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)

etc

It is actually quite painful to watch.

Adam Campbell did not do a good job. He was terrible here...

One would watch this is they want to see Sophie Monk I supposed...

Wait, they even make fun of King Kong (2005) here... sweat.gif

My Rating 2 out of 5

Video is 3 out of 5
Sound is 3 out of 5

Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)

Director: Jeff Fowler

Stars: Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter

2020, has been a... bummer so far.

Having said that, for what movies we were able to get so far, has turned out to be... good!

I had been putting off this movie for a while, because believe it or not, the awful awful Mario Bros. movie is still burn into my brains.

I overcame my fear and gave it a spin yesterday, and found myself absolutely entertained by this.

Merit where merit is due, this movie would not be half as entertaining, without the quirky Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.

He is back in his goofy glory, for all to see!

I've missed him.

Welcome back, Jim.

Always good to see James Marsden in a movie.

I also understand from further reading that the original rendering of the C.G.I. Sonic had alot of fans up in arms...

Well, from what I can see in the movie, it is very true to it's video game counterpart, so it got fixed.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 anyone?

My rating: 3.5 out of 5

Haha! I am. I had watch few after this, and I am finish collecting all. Haha!

The Death and Return of Superman - 5 Star.

I freaking like this, I find the storyline here is better than human edition. tongue.gif
Awesome Drawing & CGI, Video and Audio quality.

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis - 3.5 Star.

Certain storyline I prefer here, certain I prefer the human edition. Haha!

Freedom Fighters: The Ray - 3.5 Star.

This is on Arrowverse series, it actually ok but I think most parents not going to like it as their kids may ask a lot of question.
It is animation, I think the talk and act on LGBT is a bit too many on this, also it is quite brutal. This is adult animation to me.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights - 3 Star.

This is the only DC Comics animation I ever watch before previously. I re-watch it as I enjoy the colorful of this. Haha!
Not high score for this as I find it is too much and too long on introduce each character.

Justice League: The New Frontier - 3 Star.
It was ok, not brilliant, just ok.

if u like chinese fantasy martial arts movies, here's a good one - Jade Dynasty I 诛仙.

the story is similar to, same genre as, Legend of Zu 蜀山.

character building is a bit poor except for the main one.

CGI, special effects, HD audio - excellent.

directed by well known  Ching Siu-tung. stars... all new ones, i dunno them. biggrin.gif

3.5/5. a sequel is said to be in the making

box office, it did very well in china and thailand apparently.

Agreed. Totally put me off.

I think just like Hollywood. Initially CGI when it began, too much focus on CGi diluted the story line and the human aspect of the movies. They will slowly evolve once they noticed too much of it will just dull the whole experience.

We need something like Forest Gump from the chinese movie with CGI, where character development, storyline and, one word - 'soul' of a movie can be refocused.

if u r not a fan of such wuxia-fantasy stories, u will not like these films too much.
they incl those about monkey king, investiture of the gods, movies based on jinyong novels, etc.
these r not quite "martial arts".

on the other hand, action-fantasy may go down better for most.
e.g. operation red sea, wandering earth, korean along with the gods.
or martial arts one like Ip Man.

The Mask of Zorro (1998)

Director: Martin Campbell

Stars: Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones

This movie was a hit in 1998

It has a good script.

It has a great cast.

Martin Campbell (director of James Bond Movies) directed this (bare inn mind, he also did Green Lantern 2011). It is obvious he is movie comfortable with this material, compared with that.

The main 3 leads did a great job, with their roles.

To top it off, it had a great theme song, I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You, performed by Marc Anthony and Tina Arena. A power ballad that still works today.

This cost Sony USD 98,000,000 to produced (which is USD156,128,034.72 adjusted to inflation, in 2020) and made worldwide it made USD250,000,000.00 (which is USD398,285,802.85 adjusted to inflation, in 2020).

Not Avatar of Endgame standards, and I believe back then, marketing a movie is not as extravagant as it is now, so it was a money maker for Sony

For the uninitiated, this is a fun sword-swashing movie, for all ages.

It is recently re-issued in 4K and I am amazed.

Watch this if you can.

I rate this at 3.8 out of 5.

Video 4.5 out of 5
Sound 4 out of 5
