Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire is good, i like it.

i dunno why it was given a low score in Rotten Tomatoes.

maybe it's becos people expected a lot more as some scenes were much like star wars, seen before.

(this story was originally meant to be a star wars episode.)

it also may has elements of Dune.. and story somewhat resembles that of Seven Samurai.

(coincidentally or not, this part 1 ended with 6+1 warriors, probably to be seen again in Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver in april 2023.

excellent special effects, brilliant sound effects, a zack synder film. 3/5.

It was never meant to be a Star Wars movie, Synder wanted it to be, but Disney/Lucas Films never entertained.

watched all of them except barbie, mermaid.
worth mentioning include mission impossible: dead reckoning, killers of the flower moon and rebel moon.
not impressive to me... 2023 was probably one of the not so good years for movies.

i actually think the best movie for the year was this:

i am disappointed by this Napoleon, more so since it is a ridley scott film.

some of the scenes were awesome, well done, esp the finale battle of waterloo.

however, the story telling isn't great - feels like too many gaps, too much focus on his wife, some historical inaccuracies.

in some ways, it feel like the film does injustice to a historically significant conqueror in early 19th century europe.

overall, the film did not get great response; the french people mostly disliked it. 2/5.

Nobody watch The Marvels or Aquaman 2?
The Marvels I give 2/5 stars, weak story and the character switching at the beginning scene was overdone, dizzy when watching switching here and there non-stop

BARU WATCH AQUAMAN 2.. not high quality source tho. ok la can watch. but macam cut here and there. the director macam need extra 1 hours for the cut cut part to make the movie not ehh ehh ehh

Marvels - i give it 1/5. total waste of time.

dune 1, 2 director denis villaneuve... besides making dune 3, he's said to be making Rendezvous with Rama, a sci fi epic based on bestseller written by Arthur C Clarke who gave us 2001 A Space Odyssey, 2010 Odyssey 2 stories. 2025, i guess.

plot - 2/5 - storyline is common to similar franchise like F&F. Not much of climax to expect
sound effect - 2/5 - Several gun shots fired with scene taken from flight but impact wasn't there.
picture - 3/5 - beautiful scenery where shots including canals are taken combined with CGI.

Red Notice alike film but not close. Action is there but too predictable and flat .. for me not worth my 1.5 hr but still able to finish it
