yes, just change pin only

old and new card can be used and after expiry old cant be used anymore

As we know, since this is a renewal card, the new credit card and the old credit card have the same card numbers.

Regarding the PIN change to activate the new credit card, can we reuse the PIN (used previously for the old credit card)? Or, is it necessary to use completely new and different PIN to activate the new credit card?

Thank you for your clarification. smile.gif

If your amount is big, you have other bills to pay eg Astro, Unifi etc (but except TNB), you should consider Lazada with Lazada Voucher Club. All the vouchers can be used to pay bills (except TNB). If you don't use Lazada Voucher, you may pay Air Selangor @ Lazada using CC. For the time being, Lazada - Digital Goods (including bill payment) section is still under Lazada...MY (not under e-wallet, MCC not 6540). I still earn cashback from using HLB Wise and Maybank M2 Amex.

*
I want to pay Air Selangor bill with my PBQM, in Lazada website https://www.lazada.com.my, with my computer, so that I can earn online cashback from PBQM. However, I am not sure how to do it.

From Lazada main webpage, I click 'TopUp & eStore' icon, but there is no 'Pay Bills' icon, as shown in the following screenshot.

If it is possible, I try not to use Lazada App, because I believe that my smartphone is quite sluggish, due to installation of various apps.

Thank you for your advice, ClarenceT. smile.gif

Sigh. Why is Lazada reducing the functionality of Lazada website? Just so more Lazada users will use Lazada App, rather than Lazada website?

Alright. I will follow your advice, to use Lazada App to pay for Air Selangor bill with my PB QM.

Thank you.

Post 4 of this thread states that online cashback is given for payments of TNB electricity bill made at https://www.mytnb.com.my, via PBQM.

Is this information still valid as of now?

Thank you. smile.gif

I tried to pay a bill at Lazada, with my PB QM. Initially, the payment was successful, with the bill payment amount deducted from the available credit limit of my PB QM.

Around half an hour later, Lazada cancelled the transaction and stated that the amount was refunded. However, the bill payment amount remains as a floating transaction, based on the available credit limit if my PB QM.

What is the likely scenario for my PB QM?

a) Lazada will not perform settlement of this transaction. In other words, the transaction will be voided. Then, the available credit limit of my PB QM will be reinstated, as if I did not use my PB QM to perform this transaction.

Or;

b) Lazada will perform settlement of this transaction, and this bill payment will appear as a debiting transaction in the unbilled transaction of my PB QM. Then, Lazada will perform another crediting transaction on my PB QM, in order to refund the transaction amount back to my credit card.

Thank you for your clarification. smile.gif

Any idea why the bill payment was cancelled?
*
QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jul 11 2022, 10:38 AM)
If cancelled within the first few minutes - rejected by Lazada-Anypay, eg >1x/day limit.
If cancelled ~1 hour later, Lazada-Anypay don't get response/confirmation from the payee, eg maintenance at 12am or during off-peak hour/day.
*
I am not so sure about the cancellation reason myself. However, Lazada website stated that the cancellation reason is invalid account / max transaction limit.

I had checked that I did key in the correct account number, for the bill payment. The bill payment amount was less than RM 100. And, I performed only a single payment for that particular bill, yesterday. Once the transaction was cancelled by Lazada, I did not attempt further.

So, the cancellation reason given by Lazada-Anypay seems rather irrelevant to me. Perhaps, I was just out of luck, at that time.

Actually, I tried to pay unifi bill, via Lazada. Is it possible that Lazada-Anypay could not accept the format of my unifi account number, and thus cancelled my bill payment transaction?

The format of my unifi account number (without the hyphens) is DXXXXXXXXXXXX. X represents 12 numbers.

I keyed in the same account number in Maybank2u website, and the bill payment in Maybank2u website was successful.

You will receive the new card next week and your new card number will be updated automatically at PBe soon. PB don't really give you a fresh card number, your old one 53799200AAAAA10x, new card number 53799200AAAAA11x, AAAAA is reserved for you, x is the checksum. So the hacker can guess your new card number and attack again! I kena last month.  vmad.gif

This practice of reserving AAAAA card number is only applicable for PBB only, and not for other banks, right?

I have PBQM, and I would like to apply for PIB Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, due to 4% online cashback.

1) Will I get one eStatement for PB conventional credit card, and another eStatement for PIB Islamic credit card? Or, will I get just one eStatement for PB conventional credit card and PIB Islamic credit card altogether?

2) Can I set the statement date of PIB Islamic credit card same as the statement date of PB conventional credit card?

Thank you for your information. smile.gif

i've forgotten how does the renew card activation works in PBe. long time already since my last card renewal....
anyway, will just use the current card until end this month, and observe in PBe.

Well, there is no indication in PBe online banking website that the bank has sent the renewal credit card, due to the expiry of our current credit card.

That is why I am quite surprised to receive the renewal credit card, by mail drop. Well, I do know that my credit card is about to expire within one month, but I was unsure when PB will send the renewal credit card to me.

I do realise that different banks will have different procedure. For Maybank, the issuance of the renewal credit card is clear cut, because we can see "Pending Card Activation", in Maybank2u website. We can only activate the renewal credit card, when we receive the renewal credit card and obtain the CVV of the renewal credit card.

Thanks to the information given by cybpsych and tan_aniki, I understand that the only step to activate he renewal credit card is just setting the card PIN. The CVV of the renewal credit card is not needed.

However, in my opinion, the method used by PB is riskier. What would happen, if I have not received the renewal credit card, and I just want to change the PIN of my current (yet to expire) credit card? I may not realise that such action has activated the renewal credit card (currently in postage transit), without my knowledge.

Someone else could have intercepted the postage of the renewal credit card, and can indiscriminately use the renewal credit card, since the renewal credit card is activated, without my knowledge.

On my statement date of my PBQM in October, most likely SST will be charged on my PBQM.'

Is it possible to cancel my PBQM after the statement date, and pay just the statement balance minus SST (for the final payment)?

In other words, I am not going to pay SST, since I am not going to use PBQM after the statement date in October.

Thank you for the clarification. smile.gif

I do not believe that I am qualified for SST rebate without any condition, since my total yearly spending for PBQM is not high.

Yes, I do not perform any overseas spending at all, so it is pointless for me to spend RM 500 with my PBQM after my statement date in October, just to fulfill the condition of SST rebate.

Thank you for your informative advice, cybpsych.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Sep 10 2022, 02:36 PM)
you need to spend rm600 for QM to get rebate? from where you get this info?
Sorry, it should be RM 500, in order to get SST rebate.

Ever since PB announced that eWallet transactions are not eligible for online cashback for PBQM starting from February 2022, my monthly spend for PBQM was way lesser than RM 600.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Sep 10 2022, 02:36 PM)
since you wanna cancel...

1) wait Oct statement
2) Cashback credited
3) sst charged
4) pay all outstanding except sst
5) call CS to get sst rebate
6) if granted, wait for it then cancel
7) if not granted, request to cancel immediately and cancel the sst (get confirmation too) due to cancellation
*
Alright, I understand. As long as I do not use PBQM after SST is charged, hopefully I can pay the final statement balance (minus SST) and cancel PBQM, without paying the SST.

Only if you are totally new to PB/PiB cards

Current/Existing and former card holders are usually excluded from new user promos/campaign

Really, is that the case now?

If I am not mistaken, when Public Islamic Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card-i and Public Islamic Bank MasterCard Platinum Credit Card-i were relaunched by Public Bank months ago, the existing Public Bank cardholders were considered as new-to-bank, by Public Islamic Bank, and was able to enjoy new credit card acquisition rewards.

It was because Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank are considered as two separate entities.

During the first year of using PIBB credit cards, new PIBB credit card holders are not eligible for SST rebate, since PIBB deems that new credit card acquisition rewards have already given.

If what you said is correct, as a PBQM cardholder (who never has a PIBB credit card before), I am not eligible for first-year SST rebate, and also new credit card acquisition rewards. It is thus double disappointment for me.

Is it? I've never heard of min RM500 spending to get SST rebate..
*
When you call PB CS via phone to request for SST rebate, PB CS will first access your yearly spending for that particular credit card.

If the spending is sufficient, SST rebate should be given to you, without any condition.

Otherwise, PB CS will request you to spend RM 500 within 60 days with that particular credit card, before SST rebate can be given to you.

In this year, did anyone manage to get cashback for partial statement cycle, after appealing to CS?

A quick search in this thread shows that the appeals made in last year were unsuccessful.

Thank you. smile.gif

I have Public Islamic Bank Mastercard credit card. I do use the card occasionally for grocery and departmental transactions.

As per the product disclosure sheet, subsequent years’ annual fee waiver of this credit card is based on a minimum of 12 swipes over the preceding 12 months.

I am concerned that I may not use this credit card at least 12 times. So, can I pay any bill via JomPay 12 times with this credit card, in PBeOnline internet banking website?

For sure, I will not get any cashback for any transaction paid in in PBeOnline internet banking website. It is ok for me, because the bill payment amount is just a small amount, and I want to fulfil the annual fee waiver requirement of 12 swipes.

My question is that can 12 times of bill payment via JomPay in PBeOnline internet banking website satisfy the the annual fee waiver requirement, and I do not need to pay the annual fee for this credit card in subsequent years?

Thank you for your information. smile.gif

Public Bank deserves to be complimented for providing physical token to banking customers.

It is just not appropriate for other banks to force banking customers to rely on a single authentication method, which is mobile banking application, since not all banking customers can afford to buy recent smartphone.

As of now, for Public Islamic Bank Visa Platinum Card, 4% online cashback is still granted for e-wallet reload (such as BigPay), right?

For Public Islamic Bank Visa Credit Card, is the transaction for directly reloading TnG ewallet (without saved credit card details) eligible for 4% cashback as of now?

Did anyone obtain the cashback for directly reloading TnG ewallet last month?

For Public Islamic Bank Visa Credit Card, is the transaction for TNB electricity bill payment on https://www.mytnb.com.my eligible for 4% online cashback as of now?

From the search performed on this thread, it was last confirmed on March this year.

So, I just want to confirm that 4% online cashback is still granted for https://www.mytnb.com.my.
