Air Selangor bill can be paid at Boost App, TouchNGo ewallet App, Lazada, Shopee, e-pay.com.my, via FPX / Maybank2U / Maybank Savings account / Visa or MasterCard (not all).
*
Other than e-pay.com.my and e-Wallets, how can I make online payment to Air Selangor bill, with Public Bank Quantum MasterCard (with the payment directly charged to credit card)?

If I am not mistaken, Air Selangor website (https://crisportal.airselangor.com) allows payment via only FPX, so this method is not really suitable for us.

Thank you for your information. smile.gif

Just to confirm, we can still get online cashback when we use PB Quantum MasterCard to reload Touch 'n Go eWallet, as long as we do not save the credit card details in the app, right?

Thank you for confirmation. smile.gif

Based on Post 4 in this thread, Boost is listed as an eligible transaction for online cashback given by PB Quantum MasterCard.

Just to confirm, it is still valid now, right?

In Merchant Category Code thread, the MCC for Boost changed from 5968 (Direct Marketing – Continuity/Subscription Merchant), 4814 (Telecommunication Services) and to 6540 (Non-Financial Institutions – Stored Value Card Purchase/Load).

Thank you for your information.

Even we do receive the confirmation SMS of Great Cash Back Deals with PB Visa Credit Card (after self invitation by sending SMS), it does not necessarily mean that we are entitled to get this promotional cashback, right?

Question about “Great Savings with More Cash Back 2” Promotion

Month 2: 1 November - 30 November 2020

Spend 5 x RM100 to get RM 30 Cash Back.

Just to confirm, as of now, the cashback for Month 2 for this promotion has not been credited, right?

A quick search in this thread shows that the cashback only for Month 1 for this promotion was credited. Am I correct?

Thank you. smile.gif

It is better for MDR to be maintained as it is, so that there is higher possibilities for the credit card benefits to be maintained.

If the MDR is to be reduced, the scenario in which even more merchants have credit card terminals and the price of goods is lowered may not happen in real world.

Is it possible that this new campaign on 1 May 2021 replaces Smart Cash Rewards with PB Visa Credit Card campaign?

In other words, there is no PB campaign for PB credit cards, from 11 April 2021 to 30 April 2021, right?

Cannot do much, other than patiently wait for 1 May, which is supposedly the date for the new PB Credit Card promotion.

The current PB Credit Card promotion (“Experience Online Lifestyle with PB Visa Credit Card” Promotion, PBCB) may not be appealing to some PB cardholders who do not prefer OPPO Reno5 Smartphones or Shopee E-vouchers.

End up put my IC name on the card doh.gif

Feel like they won't replace the card for free, will see how they reply when I call them on Monday

Do you still have a PDF file (, scanned version or screenshot) of your credit card application form, whereby you specified the preferred cardholder name?

Just call Public Bank Credit Card Hotline, and then inform Public Bank Credit Card Customer Service Executive that you will e-mail your credit card application form to them. The form will serve as an evidence, that Public Bank Credit Card Processing Department made a mistake in not following the name you specified in the form, when embossing the credit card.

The cardholder should have the right to request for free credit card replacement, upon the receipt of new credit card, when the name embossed on the credit card is incorrect.

There should not be any issue to request for nickname and surname, to be embossed on your credit card, if you clearly specified your preferred cardholder name on your credit card application form.

Really bad news for insurance agents.

What are the possible reasons that cashback is not granted for insurance transactions?

https://www.mastercard.com.my/en-my/about-m...nterchange.html

Based on Mastercard Interchange Table, the interchange fee for government service transactions is much lower at 0.48%, as compared to 0.675% for other card transactions. Since the bank is earning much lesser interchange fee for government services, it is sensible that cashback is not granted for government service transactions.

Then again, why isn't cashback granted for insurance transactions, since the interchange fee for insurance transactions is same as the interchange fee for other transactions? I cannot think of any logical reasons.

my guess is based on statement date, cuz that's when cb is being credited.
*
For example, my statement date for March 2022 is 7 March 2022.

If I reload my e-Wallets on 8 February 2022 with my PB QMC and these online transactions are posted on 10 February 2022, does it mean that I will not get the 5% cashback for these online transactions on 7 March 2022?

So, in other words, the last reload transactions of my e-Wallets with my PB QMC must be posted on or before 7 February 2022, right?

Thank you for your explanation. smile.gif

Ahh I just remembered, the rm30 rule is for the offline card. Online card does not have the limit restriction.

Anyway rm30 is not a lot for online transaction, the issue is the ewallet haha
*
As you said, the minimum spending amount of RM 30.00 is not much of an issue for online transactions, but it can be difficult for (solo) dining transactions, and (light) grocery transactions.

Let's say that the spending amount for solo dining in a shopping mall is less than or around RM 20.00. In such case, after 16 February 2022, PB VS card should not be used for such payment, because no dining cashback will be given.

In a way, the minimum spending amount of RM 30.00 imposed by Public Bank is somewhat similar to the minimum spending amount imposed by merchants for retail payment via credit cards. It really discourages payment of small amount, via credit cards. And, it also "encourages" PB cardholders to overspend, so that they achieve the minimum spending amount of RM 30.00.

I do not have a PB VS card, and this is to illustrate an example.

Try Lazada App - Bill payment (new service since early this year), you can pay using a credit card, and an email confirmation from Lazada-Anypay (not sure if this document is good for you).

You can try Shopee App - Bill payment and pay using a credit card, but there is no email confirmation/receipt.

Airpay (Shopee digital goods including bill payment and Shell voucher) under 6540, same as ShopeePay.

Shopee (including Petronas/Setel) not under 6540 or e-wallet.

After 16 February 2022, what is the right method to pay Air Selangor bill, with PB credit cards, so that online cashback can be obtained?

I used to pay Air Selangor bill, via TnG eWallet. After 16 February 2022, that is not possible, since online cashback is not given for eWallet reload via PB credit cards.

Air Selangor website (https://crisportal.airselangor.com) allows payment via only FPX.

You pointed out that Shopee App Bill payment has the same MCC as ShopeePay, so it is possible that online cashback will not be given for Air Selangor bill payment in Shopee App via PB credit cards.

Is it possible to get online cashback, when Air Selangor bill payment is paid in Lazada website and App via PB credit cards?

One major impact from the recent revision of PB credit cards features is that after 16 February 2022, we are unable to get cashback indirectly, for miscellaneous transactions (the transactions which are not for grocery, dining, online and so on).

As of now till 16 February 2022, we can use PB QM and PB VS to reload e-Wallets, and then pay via e-Wallets. As such, we do not need to worry about MCCs, date of spending and any exclusion of cashback (such as insurance, government-related payments and so on), because online cashback is basically secured during the reload of e-Wallets via PB QM and PB VS.

Sigh, after 16 February 2022, there is no more cashback, indirectly for miscellaneous transactions, such as in clothing stores, hardware stores, post office, and so on.

Recently, a fraudulent transaction not authorized by me was charged to my PB CC, without SMS OTP authorization.

Within the next hour, I called PB, to block my CC, and request a replacement of the CC with the new card numbers.

When I called PB, the fraudulent transaction was still floating. I specially requested PB to block the fraudulent transaction, from being settled by the merchant.

1) The issue is that a few days later, I noticed that the fraudulent transaction was posted, in the unbilled transaction. Why did PB not block the fraudulent transaction, from being settled?

Does PB really like to undergo additional inconvenience of performing the chargeback process, which may require several weeks?

2) If the amount of the fraudulent transaction becomes a part of statement balance, do I need to pay for the fraudulent transaction first? Then, wait for the chargeback process to be completed a few weeks later, and then PB refunds the money to my CC, right?

Can I choose to pay a smaller amount (= statement balance - amount of the fraudulent transaction), on the payment due date?

Thank you for your clarification. smile.gif

Pay First, Dispute Later

Not sure if they can prevent it being posted from the other side since it's already charged.

Well, from my understanding, credit card should offer us more protection than debit card, because the bank will put in more effort to retrieve the bank's money (which is the credit limit assigned to the credit card) due to the fraudulent transaction. If a fraudulent transaction is charged to a debit card, the customer's money in the linked saving account is deducted, and the bank is less inclined to put in the effort to retrieve the money.

That is why I am puzzled on why the bank let the fraudulent transaction to be posted, and then put in even more effort to perform the chargeback process, which may require several weeks.

The amount of the fraudulent transaction is USD 30 (RM 127.92, as seen in in the unbilled transaction). Well, the amount is not huge. Still, why am I required to pay for something that I did not purchase in the first place?

Moreover, I reported the fraudulent transaction to PB, when the fraudulent transaction was still floating. If I reported it to PB after the fraudulent transaction is posted, then I accept that I have to pay for the amount of the fraudulent transaction, as a part of statement balance.

Standard procedure. PB don't have right to remove the transaction and not to post a transaction. Therefore it must be posted first then you file dispute.
*
Thank you for your explanation.

So, the card issuer bank (PB) does not have the ability to prevent the acquirer bank to claim the amount during the settlement process, even on the basis of the fraudulent transaction and that the credit card has been replaced with new card numbers?

No need to worry too much. It is very common. I had been experiencing it almost every 2-3 years.
*
Thank you for sharing your experience.

The thing is that if fraudulent transaction is posted just before the statement date, it means that the amount of fraudulent transaction needs to be paid as a part of a statement balance, on payment due date.

What if the amount of fraudulent transaction is large, say more than RM 1000, due to conversion from USD, Pound Sterling, Euro, or so on, because the fraudulent transaction was charged in foreign currency? How will we be able to pay the abnormally large statement balance?

Thanks to the guidance from you and other experts here, we learn that there are US or some European countries online site that have not adopted OTP verification yet (3D Secure). So, there are risks of fraudulent transaction charged in foreign currency.

Sigh, it is just not my luck.

The sad part is that this card will be on the chopping board once PBB start rejecting SST rebate request due to zero usage.

Really, has it reported here before, that PB will not grant SST rebate, due to zero usage of PB credit cards?

Is it sufficient to charge RM 10 (an example) monthly to PB credit cards, so that we can request for SST rebate when we call PB Credit Card customer service?

Thank you very much for your clarification. smile.gif
