Yes

May I know what programs you'll be using for video editing? Need a good display or using external monitor?
*
Currently rotating between Sony Vegas 16 and Davinci Resolve Studio 16 for now. Will most likely be using Davinci Resolve exclusively once I have the new laptop. Yes, a decent display to work on the go. It doesn't have to be the greatest display. Anything that's decent enough for video editing and gaming. =)

I already have a 60hz 1080P external monitor enough for video work at home. I do have a desktop for work and gaming at home but it's showing it's age, so I'm getting a laptop first and upgrade my desktop later since I'm mostly out nowadays.

I would avoid those with 4GB RAM because if you want to upgrade:
-8GB: add another 4GB but you'l be stuck at 8GB, if want upgrade to 16GB in future it's very troublesome
-16GB: need to take out the original RAM and add 2 sticks of 8GB

Can consider Legion 5 AMD customize (16GB RAM). Use code CITI30

Since you can't wait more than a month, consider Illegear Rogue Ryzen (4800H+2060). 120Hz low sRGB though. 10875H laptops are out of your budget

Hi,
I'm planning to buy a laptop for my girl friend.

Budget: below RM3200
Usage: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
Requirement: no

What spec should I look first when choosing a laptop?
Any different of requirement if she want to use Blender?

Appreciate sifus can help abit. I am currently looking at a light and small laptop that i can carry around for work. I am looking at something like XPS13 2020. Appreciate sifus can recommend me some cheaper alternative.

Budget - <3 (I'm ok if it's a few hundred ringgit above the budget.)

Usage - Accounting software, excel , word, web browsing, maybe a little video editing. No gaming

Weight - As light as possible

Battery - As good as possible

Display - 13 inch like XPS13 2020 (near bezel less)

Storage -480gb SSD would be sufficient

RAM - 8 or 16 is fine.

If you want good display, this is the only option for your budget. Unless you're fine without it
I'm fine without a good display.

Is this laptop worth it?

What's your budget? Also, need the laptop now or able to wait longer?

Ideapad 5 14 is fine but I would suggest getting 16GB RAM and 57Wh battery, maybe larger storage

Consider Swift 3 SF314-42-R8A9 / R43G

Swift 3 SF314-42-R8A9 is a bit over my budget at 2.6k. I just updated to 57Wh. No options to upgrade RAM but I think I'll be fine with 8GB for office applications. Adding storage also would push the budget over my limit. Maybe a future upgrade. I guess I'll proceed with this order. Thanks ZM.

Take note that you can't upgrade the RAM in future. You're welcome

Can consider Legion 5i / 5Pi customize, use code LENXCIMB. Suggest taking 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD (or 256+256 if want 80Wh battery)
