CPU performance wise 1065G7 isn't that faster, in fact it might be slightly slower. iGPU performance of course G7>G1, however since you aldy opted for dGPU there's no need for a good iGPU

I don't think the code will expire (existed for months)

If no gaming, there's no need to take dGPU

SF314-55/55G don't have upgradeable RAM. Is 16GB a must to you?

Yea i can drop gc but 8gb really not enough, coz currently using 8gb and a bit lag in between switching tab n windows

Thinkbook 14-IML customize (i5,8GB,500GB,IPS,57Wh,AX WIFI - add RAM and SSD later, apply code LENXCIMB)

Another alternative way is to remove RAM in some models and replace with 16GB RAM, but not sure whether you're fine with it or not

You have to increase budget a bit if you're not planning to upgrade, since upgrades from factory usually will be expensive (and our country has shitty soecs for laptops)

Hi everyone, was looking for an upgrade from my 8 yrs old Lenovo.

Basically have budget 3-5k, currently looking into converting to Mac Air 2020 (i5) or continue with windows

Usage: casual surfing internet (5-7 tabs at once), watch video/drama, sometimes uses word/excel

Requirement: Could possible last more than 5 years, long battery life, display (as long not worst than my current spec 1366 x 768 (HD)), heat distribution must be good

Any comments or recommendation?

2. Usage : office work (excel, power bi, salesforce) and gaming (pubg, cod, etc)
3. Requirements :
- 14' or more if within my budget
- weight doesn't matter
- not sure about battery life
- urgent purchase (due to extended wfh)

1. Budget : <2.5k
2. Usage : Purely MS office, web surfing, watching Netflix/ movies. No gaming/ editing/ design
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Must be 14", weight must be 1.5kg or below, very thin something like the thinkpad 470t. If possible want a really good keyboard like the Thinkpad. RAM could be upgraded to 8gb at least, 16gb would be good for future proof. Must have SSD, at least 256, if can get 500 would be better. Battery life not a priority as will be plug in most of the time, display quality also don't really mind. Want it to be able to last for at least 5 years.

1. Budget :RM 1.4k below
2. Usage :University Student normal usage. MS Office, watching movie, web surfing.Maybe some basic design such as AutoCad
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 14",maybe not to important because will always charger on plug.
Or maybe any recommendations of best budget laptop for student.

Im afraid to buy any second or refurb laptop, because fear it will not last long and may cause much more problem. Can anyone give me an advice on how to choose refurb or second laptop that can convince me ?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

'last at least 5 yrs' - realistically no one can guarantee it

For RM2.5k there aren't much options to choose from. Consider Acer Swift 3 SF314-41-R5UP/R3AS +RAM

If you want a more reliable laptop, there isn't a better option (used to have Thinkpad T495 but price has spiked up)
