1. Budget :
Please recommend to me mid-range and high-range stuff

2. Usage :
- Heavy on graphics
- Audio mixing
- Coding and programming
- Some video editing
- Occasional gaming on the side

3. Requirements :
- Best if the CPU and GPU can take the constant stress well
- Removable battery if possible (pretty sure newer models are all built in nowadays)

Most laptops will likely to throttle due to its thin form factor (unless you want to go the route of using liquid metal + undervolt) icon_idea.gif

Although the problem right now is some laptops won't even let you to do undervolting due to mitigation of Intel's Plundervolt vulnerability sweat.gif

Acer predator triton 500/700.
Beast laptops.
Not sure whether the battery is removable.
It would be more than capable to perform your stated usages.

Yes, this is the main concern I have for laptops!! I'm a desktop user all the while but due to logistic related issues I am forced to get a laptop instead so I really need people to point me in the right direction.

Hai i need a laptop. Current laptop is vivobook s15 and this is laptop company. so i quit company and must return the laptop. so I got no laptop anymore

1. Budget: 2k~3.5k
2. Usage : Mostly my time with laptop are work, play dota 2 heavily and surfing internet (MX250 enough maybe?)
3. Requirement : Light thin and less weight, and convenience for work purpose. Also not favor gaming laptop due to their design bulky and gaming oriented accent. A balance between convenience slim design and performance be that should enough can run DOTA 2 heavily

Thanks

Maybe 2kg i think and battery life 5-7 hours still acceptable. Accept gaming laptop but not too much of gaming look and light weight. A concept like asus zephyrus is what i prefer

Regular laptops / Ultrabooks with MX250 25W: Lenovo Ideapad S540-15IML 81NG0068MJ / 69MJ

It's metal build but definitely not 'premium', 'decent' would be the word

10th gen U series actually not much difference compared to 8th gen U series

If I remembered correctly, 2 fans is only present in 1650MQ model. 1 fan for MX250

1. Budget : Preferabble 4k. Most I can go 4.5k

2. Usage : Photoshop, video editing (After Effect, Premiere Pro), 3D modelling (SketchUp, Blender), usual browsing. Not using for gaming.

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :
- Display size no preference (Might buy external monitor).
- Battery life no preference.
- Prefer a workstation laptop due to durability and long lasting with care.
- High sRGB due to design work.

IdeaPad L340 Gaming( i7-9750H, 1TB+256GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 3GB GDDR5, 8gb ram)

or ThinkPad T495s (AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 3500U Processor 2.10GHz 2MB, 512GB SSD, AMD Radeon Vega8 Graphics,16gb ram)

or ThinkBook 15 (i7-10510U, 512GB SSD, Intel UHD Graphics, 16gb ram)

Which one is better for a student who are going to take software engineering course? It is around the same budget for me. Which one is more suitable to run the software engineering program and last longer? Or is there other laptop that is better? My budget is around rm4.3k. Thanks.

Are Thinkpad P53s and P43s recommended? They are about 4.5k.

Which workstation would you recommend on budget?

53s and P43s uses the paltry intel 8th gen U series processors.

It is hopeful that the AMD's H series (4800H or higher) ws laptop options will be released soon....@around 4.5k..

Mainly(8 core to 8 core equivalence) because you pay approx. 25-30% less in price and you get equal to around 10-25% greater performance@default TDP while consuming up to 30% less power....

P53s/P43s are not 'true' workstation, they are rebranded T590/T490

Fine with gaming laptops? (consumer grade instead of business grade tho)

Oh, I learned something valuable.

Yeah, I'm fine with gaming laptops. I'm open to suggestion that fit my 4k budget. (max 4.5k)
