What kind of program you'll be using?

I believe i will be using CAD for engineering and probably do some coding (still not confirmed cuz still not an engineering student haha)

There are some performance Ultrabooks like Yoga S740 / Slim 7, but I couldn't find it available

Looking for a new laptop for daily regular use

1. Budget : 2-3k
2. Usage : web browsing, word processing, handling emails, playing videos
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :
Looking for something light and portable, around 1.2 to 1.4kg, screen size around 13 to 14 inches
With a battery life around 6 to 8 hours

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : size 15.6", longer battery life is better, but mosty will use at home only. prefer i5 latest gen (is it good?). looking for lower mid-range future proof.

there aren't many decent 15 inch regular laptops around RM2.5k, fine with gaming laptop?

may look into gaming laptop if the price is reasonable, I would go maximum 3k.

I can top 5k-7k, if it clarifies. Anything close to 10k is like 'premium' grade stuff already if I am not mistaken.

No to both, I'll have it plugged in mostly and a heavier laptop is not much of an issue to me.
