To be frank, high isn't the 9600gt's forte.
Its more to the medium settings, unless you get the 9600gt with 1GB. But still with that price might as well get the 4850, will give you better performance. And I see some benchmarks (4850) will get you your high settings. |

But i see the 9600 going around the RM350 and below price, and the 4850 is hovers above RM550. thats 200 bucks diff.

Yeh, but if you want to get the 9600gt thats around rm350, you would get the 512mb version. the 1gig version of the 9600gt usually goes around 500+..and some rm600+. (checked price using all it's pricelist.)

Hi, question here..
Whats the difference between using good PSU and cheap PSU? i trying to build a new pc and some1 recommend me to use CoolerMaster Extreme Power Plus 450W PSU and my question is why do we need such an expensive PSU compare to the cheap 1 like >RM60? what will happen if i use the cheap PSU? Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 GigaByte GA-G31M-S2L mainboard 2GB Kingston DDR2-800 Value RAM (2 x 1GB) Palit 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 Lite-On 20x SATA DVDRW Seagate 320GB SATA HDD CoolerMaster Extreme Power Plus 450W PSU ATX casing without PSU Thanx ^^ This post has been edited by lee90: Dec 4 2008, 11:32 PM |

good psu = 80% output voltage from your psu state
cheap psu = 50% output voltage from your psu state cheap psu can't handle your hardware properly...so many problem...especially if you use high end graphic card |

there are many other good PSU brands around, like Enermax, Seventeam, Acbel, Silverstone, Vantec, etc etc...
for ur setup, main thing is to have at least 300W continuous (or true) power... CM's Extreme Power Plus has min 70% efficiency, so it's 450W (or issit 460W??) will give u min. 315W (450 x 70%) casing depends on the mobo that u use... small ones are called mATX (micro ATX) while big ones are called ATX... a mATX mobo can fit into a ATX casing, but not the other way round... |

hard to say... only thru testings then we can know how much the efficiency is...
some good ones may indicate the efficiency on the box... but usually cheapo ones dun do that... expect at most 60% for cheapo PSU... or if u re really concerned abt efficiency, u can look for those 80PLUS certified PSU... with the 80PLUS chop, it means that particular model can achieve minimum 80% efficiency under any load... |
