You're welcome

Got upgrade to 16GB RAM? Also, would you like to do some thermal testing after receiving the laptop?

Nah, I kept it at 8gb for now to keep myself from over budgeting, might directly upgrade it to 8x2 when I get it though, depending on the market price then.

I'd would like to help with the thermal test but lenovo says it'll take 4-6week to deliver. I'll check back on this post then if you'd still want my participation.

Both models are decent, cost around RM3.6k. Forge 15 has 120Hz panel though

IMO i5 is enough for your usage (Forge 15 cannot be configured with i5+1650). Also consider Legion Y7000SE with code LENXCIMB (expiring soon). 2 yr premier onsite and W10 key included

1660Ti is more worth it, if possible get that

Very few notebooks these days have upgradeable CPUs/GPUs icon_idea.gif

The only choices are those big and bulky Clevo based barebones sweat.gif

Refer to the thread: Y7000 SE customize with code LENXCIMB and Shopback. Or the premade models: Y7000 SE 81T0001HMJ, Y540 15 81SY00AJMJ

Alternative: Illegear Raven SE / Raven

You don't need i7-9750H to pair with 1650, i5-9300H is good enough

MSI GL63, Asus GL552 and FX505 aren't that good. m17 is completely out of your budget, and it has mediocre cooling

Long time lurker here without account.
I never intended to comment at any thread but I just wanna thank you for your contribution.

I'm planning to buy Raven SE/R or Forge 15 Pro, and it seems that both are great choices. I'd love to go to showroom someday and see how it feels.

Any distinctive pro and con between these 2 choice though?

I would say both are equally decent, Raven SE/SE-R is slightly more portable but has slightly less cooling room. You need to try out yourselves
