Hi 97fangkhai97,

May i know what software did you use to monitor the thermal throttling? And what are the temperatures of your CPU and GPU?

i didn't use any software. i assume it is thermal throttle because after some times suddenly frame rate will drop from 100 to maybe 60-80 then up again. it will happen at a random times but quite often while gaming. Btw, to upgrade RAM, is KINGSTON 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL15 SODIMM HYPERX IMPACT compatible?

Can I have the CPU and GPU temperature of your RAVEN SE when playing DOTA 2? FPS drop may not be thermal throttling.

Hi,

Recently purchased a Raven SE-R (i7-9750H, RTX2060)

While playing Control with Ray Tracing on, high details - my CPU temp hit 97 max and GPU temp hit 86 max.

Is this normal? Not sure what to expect tbh this is like my first gaming laptop. Slightly worried since I thought the cooling for this is decent what with the triple heatpipe etc.

Hi puremoe

If your unit comes with thermal grizzly kryonaut, it must be pre-applied before we deliver to you.

You may contact our support line and we will assist on the temperature issue.

Looks pretty normal there. Can't expect much cooling for notebook chassis especially coupled with a known hot CPU.

If you are willing to sacrifice on rtx, disable it, undervolt CPU and cap max boost then use msi afterburner to undervolt GPU. It should be able to hit max around 68-73degrees which is what I would say comfortable.

Going down on quality settings and play at 60fps non rtx may drop temp even further to around 67-69 max when you limit GPU clock and undervolt just enough for it to sustain 60fps

Prince J, would like some clarification on the upcoming Laguna SE.
This line quoted from that product page:"47Wh Battery for 1660Ti and 2060, 64Wh Battery for 2070".
Does this means that if I'm to choose the RTX2070 then I will lose the 2.5" SATA slot due to the larger battery?
Or the 64Wh battery will be a upgrade option which the user can choose?

It won't be possible because of 3-sided narrow bezel.
