ZM Fong, any plan on review for the Laguna SE or will need to wait until arrival in end of Sept?
Planning to get one laptop with RTX2070 but the Onyx is Max-Q version while Selenite is 17inch screen which I would like to avoid after the exp of replacing my ROG G751 screen a few times and now resort to external screen, keyboard mouse combo. Prince J, would like some clarification on the upcoming Laguna SE.
This line quoted from that product page:"47Wh Battery for 1660Ti and 2060, 64Wh Battery for 2070". Does this means that if I'm to choose the RTX2070 then I will lose the 2.5" SATA slot due to the larger battery? Or the 64Wh battery will be a upgrade option which the user can choose? |

QUOTE(Prince J @ Sep 13 2019, 11:52 PM) Yes you can use Intel driver from Intel official site. So to get the 2.5" SATA slot I will have to either go with 2060 option or other laptop? Can we have your serial number so we can assist you further? LAGUNA SE 2070 comes with big battery by default. QUOTE(Prince J @ Sep 21 2019, 04:29 PM) Sorry for the late response. You don't need to sacrifice 2.5" SATA for 63Wh big battery on LAGUNA SE. Thanks for the confirmation. QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 21 2019, 04:50 PM) Laguna SE don't have Optimus though, which means that battery life will be worse than other models with 63Wh battery upgrade and similar specs I'm using it as a desktop replacement which need to be mobile so not really a concern for me on that... |

Anyone can comment by average, how long does the laptop takes to reach you after the purchase?

QUOTE(Wildfang82 @ Oct 24 2019, 08:17 PM) I kind of regretted placing my order on 12/10/2019. If I had known that the order would take so long and until now still no news regarding it, I would have just waited to buy for the latest promotion instead. At this rate, it doesn't surprise me when ppl claimed that it would be 3 weeks. Which model you purchased? |

Just notice Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD is 7.2mm thick so this thickness not supported on the Laguna SE?

QUOTE(absolut_zero @ Oct 29 2019, 12:03 PM) It will fit. The 2.5 inch drive with 9.5mm height will not fit and there are some 2.5inch drives that are 12.5mm (will not fit in most notebooks), 15mm (enterprise class), and 19mm (2.5inch IDE) in height. Hm, got this doubt as the spec listed as 7mm height while most of the upgrade option provided in the Laguna SE page is also 7mm height.![]() ![]() When i check the spec of the 2TB Firecuda (7mm) & 1TB Barracuda Pro (7mm) while the 2TB Barracuda (7.2mm), so I thought that it's the 0.2mm difference which hinder the laptop from this upgrade. ![]() ![]() So hope Illegear or other users who has undergo this upgrade can clear my doubt on this... QUOTE(AZIM@ILLEGEAR @ Oct 29 2019, 01:32 PM) Hi xyz_cityhunter, kindly note that the LAGUNA SE officially supports 2.5" storage drives with maximum thickness of 7mm. We have yet to try the Seagate Barracuda 2TB drive (7.2mm) with the laptop but we shall update this thread if the drive is tested to be compatible with the model. Ok, thanks for the info and hopefully a follow-up on that. |

QUOTE(ghostcommand @ Oct 29 2019, 11:34 PM) 100% will fit. Wanna know why? Haha, problem is that i not yet have the laptop to measure so better ask to confirm.Just grab the nearest ruler, and try to find 1mm. Notice how small it is? Then think for a second how small 0.2mm or 2/10ths of that 1mm is. There is practically no difference between 7 and 7.2mm drives. You will need special tools to even measure 0.1mm differences lol Just in case later that 0.2mm really that much of a difference for the bottom casing unable to close properly... |
