What MS did with XB1's backward compatibility is a very diff case compared to PS3

For PS5, that's very very unlikely due to architect difference between PS3 and PS4/PS5
Doubt Sony gonna invest in developing an PS3 emulator just to have backward compatibility for PS3 games

Nothing to hope because economically speaking, it makes way more sense to push PS Now to a wider audience than to kill themselves trying to make a PS3 emulator.

PS3 compatibility is only through the cloud, Sony has made that very clear.

If they implement cloud version i rather say they can just remove it.

Remember squeenix shinra tech cloud base? they just discontinue loss 16mil usd.

future gen gaming will be GaaS (Game as a Service) based in cloud, there's no escape from it as time goes by and the tech matured

MS released a dickless diskless XboxOne, Google is already going ahead with it's Stadia, while Sony already had it's PS Now years back

So I won't be surprised if PS Now will be available worldwide when PS5 is launched

Who knows? we might even get different tier of PS+ subscription, like PS+ Silver just for online gaming, PS+ Gold for online + IGC, and PS+ Platinum for online + IGC + PS Now?

i think later, all games will be sold as DIGITIZED version only.

I prefer digital too.
But there has been cases where Sony has banned a console, PSN account and all your games.
One guy was caught trolling/talking trash online, so they banned him and all his digital games.

Let’s say you’ve been using some glitch to benefit in an online multiplayer game, that technically gives Sony the right to ban your own account and any digital games tied to it.


“You’ve 2 years PS+ subs and more than 2k worth of games in your account? Too bad. They’re gone now. You should not have trolled/cheated.”

I once have my account suspended because of some issues with PayPal. It was for an add on worth less than 10 bucks.
Due to that, I wasn’t able to access my entire library and play online.
It was settled only after a week.

Sony can remove your access to your digital games/ban your account for many reasons. Sharing an account with your brother? They can technically ban you for that too.

I don't mind if the infrastructure for game streaming is good enough for console games where they can't be modded anyway excepting a few outliers.


I still remember OnLive that were hyped up back in 2009. It was too soon for that kind of thing back then I guess.

I only buy physical disc version. u can keep the game forever (truely forever), resell, exchange, share with anyone. Digital games u just pay to buy a 'pass' to access the game. If one day a game is 'removed' from the store, u will lose the access to it too.

True story for games bought on iOS and Android. Some games get remove due to policy.

Anyway still good with Steam where games I bought as long as 10+ years ago stil available

it due to the partnership with the game companies end also.

that's why digital games, even u bought, u dun 'own' it technically.

digital world is moving, u may not know that anytime steam can be replaced by other things in future.

Why is that a bullshit ? They are not actually in the same league .

First of all the Pro edition is more expensive than the normal PS4 .

Not to mention , the PRO are made for people who have higher end gaming setups and can actually benefit from the upgrade.
(PS4 can do HDR too but there are barely any 1080P TV that can really play HDR )

Majority of the people wouldn't give a damn about these upgrades since they would just slap it on their cheap display / monitor and call it a day .


So I don't know why would you feel bad about that . It is like you spending more money to buy a better PC and got a better gaming exp , you get what you paid for .
If they renew the exact same model , provide it with substantial gaming upgrades and launching it with the same price , that is bullshit.
