Latest iPhone is a miracle, with that little 4xxxmAh battery + turned off 5G, it last like 10 hours for SoT, compare with Snapdragon 888+ or 8 gen 1, meh.

They are going the Samsung route... that's why. I think it wont belong before ARM cpu stagnate unless they do radical redesign.

Apple want to fight with Intel CPU and AMD GPU market, too expensive, better design on their own, and I will said it is at least successful, many rich guys that make video also love the dedicated hardware for encode/decode acceleration, so still ok la.

Just it is too expensive, but the battery life as a normal laptop is good, no need that M1 pro or M1 max, normal 2020 M1 is enough.

Also because too much video maker are saying how good how fast the apple laptop is, lot of student failed into their mind and wanted a apple laptop for University usage...


For Samsung, well, no one want their CPU, just they force customer to purchase it, while big market like US and China are using Qualcomm version for better 4g 5g band support..

However I think Apple can only do so much. RISC also have its limitation. Personally I think there are more future with X86.

The best part for x86 is compatible, RISC good part is everyone can design their own chip, as long as you can ask from ARM(look at Huawei getting ban from US), you can't really design a good x86 chip on your own, except you find AMD and co-operate with them(yes, in China they did this).

That's why most thing are going with ARM chip, because they are allowed to license from it, and design special function chip around it.

Apple now are targeting like x86, allow plugin another pair of Apple M1 chip, tier together, becoming M1 x2 multicore performance lol.

Also, I was wondering, why browser benchmark(speedometer 2.0) are much much faster on RISC, then later Google show to me that, it is Google not optimized enough for x86 yet.

Apple is successful due to their tight integration of their hardware and software. Just look at Alder Lake and Windows 11. It is still a mess.
