Hello guys, do you all have problem with car warranty after installation. Especially those hard wired one? Planning to buy z40 for both my cars during 12.12? Any recommended shop for installation.

If hardwire how long can the battery tahan before cut off? i thought of only using parking mode when parking out side when going to work, like may be 8am to 6pm for example.

Thought of using external powerbank but might forget to charge...

Also looking for reputable seller with installation in Kuching if any.

Hey guys, newbie to dashcam here.

Leaning towards capasitor type and prefer with parking mode. Shortlisted either Viofo a129 Pro duo or Ddpai z40. Would welcome any other recommendation. Budget 500 to 1k.

1) Parking mode require hardwire which will void warrant. How do you guys with new car work around this?
2) Long term effect of hardwire on car battery?
3) Park under hot sun quite regularly. Any concern on overheating.
4) Ddpai z40 ensure recording are saved in case of faulty micro sd card. Does a129 have this function?

The RTC battery is soldered to the board, and can be replaced by someone with some soldering experience. It is the round silver thing like a 5 sen coin on the bottom left of the casing. Refer to the photo in post #3670.

The photo in post #3670 has a red oval around the supercapacitor, NOT the RTC battery. I think Joey misunderstood you.

I did try once, it just keep running and draining the powerbank until it depleted completely, all within 8 hours of overnight parking. Not sure why dashcam cant goes into parking mode.

Still undecided which to go for this time, but definitely either 2 cam or 3 cam.

Also for the 4K sensor of the A129 Pro Duo - is it better to record at 4K 30fps or 2K 60fps?

I personally would record at 2K 60fps because:
1. i prefer higher framerates, video recorded is smoother
2. recording video at 4K will significantly heat up the dashcam, plus our weather during hot afternoon is damn hot, and ur car tint is also absorbing the heat from the sun. Hot dash cam + hot weather + hot tint = ..... not good?

Been using xiaoyi dashcam for about 6 years now.
If i park at outside during noon, i would cover the dashcam using my old cap to protect from heat & prying eyes also.
So far so good.

Now i don’t depend on the app anymore. I just disabled the Wifi externally & i bought the sdcard reader for iphone.

Anything just cabut the sdcard and read from phone much more faster.

But i also plan to buy the dashcam that comes with both front & rear cams.
Was wondering which brand that has small & discreet cam that can fit at the back of honda city hybrid ya? I put a sunshade behind also. Planning to squeeze thru it and put at near the 3rd rear light brake there.

Hi sifu blurjoey. Installed the Viofo A129 Pro Duo around 2 weeks ago. Just wanted to ask if the quality of the video for A129 is normal for dark / night recording. Using H265, Maximum Bitrate, WDR off, no CPL. Quite a bit of noise visible in the video.



Tried installing CPL to improve glare, but there seems to be a visible rainbow halo on the top left corner of each video - I installed window tint, and I read that this may be the case why it's happening. Removed the CPL and the rainbow halo effect is gone.
