Getting Started

I have the time to workout but I keep giving myself reasons not to workout, like if I go to play football I can socialize and make friend and also sweat abit...I won’t last long because working out is boring.I do like once or twice a week nowadays, used to do 6 days a week continuous for 7 years. How do I convince myself to workout more often? The benefit of working out is very good, better mood, more healthy body and mind...it’s just that it’s a little boring and i actually like sports

I don't know if it will work for you but recently I faced a similar slump too and I decided to splurge a bit on a pair of new shoes and my motivation immediately increased again.

Compare where you are and where you wanted to be when you started then you should be motivated. If you are already where you wanted to be then change your destination again because you have proven that you could be so much more!

I've been doing it for 8 years now since the age of 15 and i've never felt demotivated, not for a long period of time at least. It just felt like a routine, in such a way you have to go for classes/work/video games and eat everyday. When I've felt exhausted after work, I'd just close my eyes, says F* it, and drive to the gym. You can't turn ur car back now, that you're already there. I've made it a habit and a routine out of myself and it's defo something you could try to do. Start off by making your own schedule and choose your On/Rest days. Doesnt have to be 6d/week, 4days are fine so u can have an on/off intervals. And you can put it in a way that working out can help with your performance in sports which does compliments each other in strength/stamina.

Set shorterm sport goal like - run faster next month in your sports - smash harder next month in your sports
Rather than bb goal like - gain 1kg muscle next month - loss 1kg fat next month
Actually if you don't like it, you can't do it for the rest of your life, motivation is bs, discipline is key

in a slump myself now too. used to workout 5 times a week. now reduced to 3 times, sometimes 4 a week. Though weirdly only lazy to go during weekdays. Weekend business as usual.
Been going consistently for the past 3 years though. Guess good time to slow down for abit

6 days for a week for 7-years. Who wouldn't get bored especially if you didn't get where u wanted to be.

If you are not tied to 1 gym, then rotate your gym membership. At the same time, you can meet more people.

That's just remind me myself. I am doing some rest blocks between roads to the gym anyway, for example I may go here like a month, then have myself week or two rest, than again forcing myself into the gym and so on and on. That way I am on the way to 6 days a week or so anyway.
