Guys,

For those who bought M20P thru lazada/shopee, is it really matter if the phone delivered unsealed (open box) to you ?

Up to individual preferences, for me I prefer not. Feel uncomfortable.

I think unsealed meaning that the Seller will open the box, switch it ON and activate the warranty registration by himself.

My friend bought the 2549 unsealed. The box is rewrapped tightly with plastic wrapper. The phone is Malaysia set as checked with SIRIM website on its IMEI.

The warranty period started before you make the purchase (one or two days earlier), how do the seller know the next day you will purchase it?

If you try to register the phone, Huawei website will say already registered under another account.

So, you decide this is acceptable or not.

Why would the seller take the effort to rewrap tightly with plastic after they open up your phone?
I think seller can register the warranty without open up the phone. They should have all the SN and IMEI with them without open the phone.

Yeah the sticker on the box should have that info. Unless there is some kind of incentive for them when they power up the phone and register via an app or online?

Yes. I asked one the online seller for Samsung. He said they sell so cheap because they want to register the phone and claim the incentive from Samsung. But i just dont how they do that and why they will need to open up the phone

Why uncomfortable? You afraid they will put a used unit in?

Not sure how Huawei works. But for Samsung, they need to register it by opening connecting the phone to the internet. Why they can't let the user do it (like Apple), I am not sure.

Yup. For such a new model (pre order time), I don't think one will get a used unit. sweat.gif

Ya, Apple’s warranty is activated when the device is powered up for the first time and can be easily checked online. That’s as seamless as it gets smile.gif

I just asked Samsung shop. It's Samsung's SOP to do so, probably to activate the warranty on the same date as the receipt date. Otherwise the shop will be penalized by Samsung Msia. :x
Not sure if this is the same for Huawei.
