QUOTE(VeeJay @ Mar 9 2021, 12:29 AM) must be unlucky then, hardly battery would swell unless extra heat induced. How about while driving your car? Many place it at windscreen, which is direct to heat, I do normally push my aircon vent towards the phone to cool down. Im not too sure of the warranty, bro. Better get the battery changed fast, its not gonna be too expensive. It’s actually my dad’s phone. He never use phone mount before. Only place it in pocket when driving. Never place it in car under direct sun. Dropped from table height 2 times through its lifetime. The gap is around 1mm when I first notice the battery swelling up. But today it suddenly got a lot worse and force the back plate wide open (~8mm gap). For myself, my iPhone was accidentally placed in car under direct sun, few hours, for at least 2 times. And the battery still going strong and no swelling after 2 years. Will get the warranty sorted out ASAP.

The another cause that make lithium battery puff less likely happen on smartphone(over charge, over discharge) since phone and charger will stop charging if they sense something wrong. Stop using the phone, place it somewhere safe as it got chance to catch fire. This post has been edited by josh5671: Mar 9 2021, 01:17 AM

Huawei no international warranty. You only can claim warranty back to original country that you bought. Many Huawei phone users battery pop out over the period of time use. I never face before. Most due to overcharged especially charge over the night. Phone shall stop to charge once reach 100% n don't left it charging. Good practice is charge never below 40% to maintain the quality of the battery. QUOTE(y561994 @ Mar 8 2021, 11:02 PM) I see. Thank you very much. In the support app, it says country/ region = Singapore. Does it mean that it is SG only warranty? The phone uses its provided fast charger all the time. Never charge via PC, never charge via other charger. And seldom use phone when charging.

QUOTE(christina1 @ Mar 20 2021, 01:18 PM) No more future update after this ? I think there will be update update EMUI 11. Initially we were slotted for Jan 2021, but they have pulled out M20p from the list SO Im assuming it will be on quarterly update then https://www.huaweicentral.com/january-2021-...y-updates-list/

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has upgraded the Mate 20X to Mate 40 Pro or 40 Pro Plus. If yes, I am particularly interested to know if the camera of the Mate 40 Pro is significantly better than the Mate 20X in low light or all shooting conditions.
I have always been interested in getting a quality compact camera since 15 or 20 years ago, say the Panasonic Lumix LX7 (now LX100) or Fujifilm X100 etc. but never really own one despite having the budget for it for one simple reason - it is likely I will only use the camera 1 or 2 times in a year and it will most likely end up in the cupboard or something most of the time. The same cannot be said about the phone as people use it every minute of the day. Also, I am not much of a camera enthusiast and have no knowledge of manually adjusting the settings of the camera to take good pictures (exposure, shutter speed etc.) and mostly take photos in auto mode.
Hence, the only practical and most useful option is a phone with a higher quality camera than this Mate 20X. I have to admit that the camera of the 20X is respectable given its hardware limits such as small size of sensor. In good light, the image quality is above average. In low light indoors, it is still acceptable but the images get a little smeared with noise which is perfectly acceptable due to its small sensor. I was thinking of the Mate 40 Pro will be a noticeable if not significant upgrade in performance given its slightly larger sensor of 1/1.28".
Is there anyone who has upgraded to the Mate 40X Pro or Pro+ and noticed higher quality photos with better clarity and detail in all shooting conditions, good light or low light indoors? I am aware there may be other phones that are good but I don't know why I seem to like the Huawei design. I don't particularly like Apple or Oneplus, or Samsung due to the even higher price. However, if anyone owns the Samsung, Oneplus, Google Pixel or any other phones and found the camera to be better than the Mate 20X, please feel free to share. The main interest is still the Mate 40 Pro though.
