To Mate 20X users, would like to ask if you are able to use the phone a whole day with normal usage without charging the phone? Maybe the most you charge the phone 1 time only and the phone will work throughout the day?

For me I'm not gamer. Every day I will charge my phone around 11am. Usually my phone dropped to lowest 55% to 75% depending on mobile data n WiFi usage.

Thanks for the reply. Similarly i am not into games and mainly use WhatsApp, the videos and attachment sent through WhatsApp and browsing the internet. Occasionally i use Google Maps in the phone when driving to a particular destination but that is of less concern because i have the car charger that is very efficient in providing quick charging to the phone, most of the time better than the normal wall plug charger at home which is weird.

I ask this question because my LG V20 although a good phone is giving me a bit of problem even it comes to charging. When new I only need to charge it 1 or maximum 2 times a day. Now I have to charge it 4 to 5 times a day if not more. The worse thing is when I plug the USB cable to charge the phone, it is not charging, or it charges extremely slow. Sometimes when I plug the cable to the phone, after 1 hour the phone battery power goes from say 10% to 15% only instead of 100%.which is pathetic.

Apart from this issue, the power drops fairly quickly when I'm using the phone to browse the internet, such as typing this post of the phone right now. Charging the phone average 4 to 5 times a day.

When it comes a time that i need to charge the phone 10 times a day, either I replace the battery of the V20 or I get this Huawei Mate 20X. Apart from the impressive huge capacity battery, the big screen (7 inches?) and camera are the main selling points for me.

Lol ryder_78, finally decided to come in here to have a peek after my suggestion at the V20 thread? Just ditch the V20, LG is a shit company. By the way, I have beem using my Maye 20 X for a month now, and I am loving it. It is just like how I enjoyed using my Oneplus 3, only that this is much better in almost every aspect.

Better screen (colours more vibrant, brighter), larger screen, super large battery, very fluid UI (at times just a tinny winny bit slower than Oneplus, we are talking about milliseconds difference here, not like 5 seconds in the case of V20), awesome camera, good software support (compared to V20), reasonable price.  Even the headphone jack quality is good, I would say 95% of the V20's quad DAC. But when comparing the audio output from speakers, the Mate 20 X completely thrash it. It is the loudest phone I have ever seen, just like having a dedicated portable speaker. It can even be too loud at times for my liking, at max volume.

The only thing V20 have that's better than the Huawei Mate 20 X are these:
1. Dedicated SD Card slot, not hybrid
2. Removable battery
3. Dual display (the Mate 20 X does not have a LED notification light and the floating display isn't really informative imo)

That's it. In every other aspect, it lags very far behind. The Mate 20 X is also a much better looking phone. No point being stubborn and singing praises of V20 anymore. LG is crap, period.
*
Haha buddy, I hear you man. The only aspect I don't like about the LG V20 is its battery performance, apart from all the negatives that you have mentioned. The phone is good during the 1st year. After more than 1 year, close to 2 years in fact, the phone is not so desirable mainly because I need to charge it on average 5 or 6 times a day, sometimes leaving the phone plugged to the wall outlet while I am using the phone to browse the internet to avoid the power from going down to fast.

I'm actually not singing praises about the phone. The fact is I don't simply change phones too often unless it is giving me problems. My last 2 phones were replaced only when they were giving me problems. The Nokia Pureview 808 was really a king when it comes to photography. Even though it runs on Symbian and is extremely slow in operation and pathetic, I still continued to use it. It was only when Symbian discontinued support for Whatsapp on the phone which means it cannot run on the phone anymore, I have no choice but to replace the phone with an Android one. I got a Xiaomi phone and long story short it was replaced by the LG V20 when it crashed and hung up too often with apps freezing and stuff, and I had to restart the phone whenever that happens.

Unlike most people who replace phones to keep up with the latest technology, I usually don't follow the trend unless the phone is giving me difficulty or problems. The LG V20 is starting to show signs of it but still not to the point of unusable. It's just that i need to do very frequent charging which at times do frustrate. I have tried charging the phone to 100% at night at about 10.00pm and leave it until the next morning. Surprisingly the next morning the phone showed 89% power left although it was on standby and not used. If I use the phone to browse the internet continuously, it will go from 100% to 15% before the warning sign comes up in say 1.5 to 2 hours, give and take. I guess the battery is not strong anymore.

All the good points that you mentioned about the Huawei Mate 20X are surely desirable and in my criteria as well, things such as larger, better and brighter screen (yes, I do find the V20's screen to be a bit dull even when switched to maximum brightness especially outdoors under the sun), fast operation, better camera (I thought the V20's camera is already quite good), louder speakers and lastly long-lasting battery. My LG V20 is not showing the slowness or lag as you mentioned yet, and it's only the battery performance that is the issue here. The Huawei Mate 20X's battery performance is surely one of the strong selling points. However, the latest comment on a forummer(apecorp) here on the reduced battery performance after the update is a bit worrying.

The Mate 20X will likely replace the LG V20 and will likely relegate the latter to hifi duties as a source, utilizing its internal DAC. Hopefully the phone will work as a source / music player without a SIM card. The time will come.

I just noticed there is a new Mate 20X 5G version that is already planned to release in other markets but surprisingly the battery is downgraded to 4200 mAh instead of the 5000 mAh in the current 4G version we have now. Not too sure why Huawei had provided a smaller battery capacity for the 5G version when the large capacity is supposed to be one of the main selling points of the 20X.

Quick one. I lost my phone 2 days ago and just bought the Huawei Mate 20X yesterday. The plastic case included inside the box looks a bit cheap so I'm looking for a more solid case for the phone. After few minutes of searching on the internet, I stumbled upon this XOnen Dropguard Pro for Mate 20X as below.

If any of you guys have bought this case for the Mate 20X, can advise how much is the price you have paid for it?

And one more thing, can we use other type of chargers to charge the Mate 20X instead of using Huawei Supercharger that is included in the box?

Of course. Only you will get fast and not supercharging
I am using Anker fast charger

Ok thanks. Just worried aftermarket chargers might damage the phone and Huawei's Supercharger is proprietary. Didn't have time to read the manual yesterday.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. But did you purchase a new Mate 20X or used one? Where did you buy it? And f you don’t mind, how much did you acquire it for? I am looking for a unit. TQ.

I bought new from a shop in Tesco ampang. The Mudah.com link of the shop is here.

Actually I still have company phone with me although I lost my personal phone. Sometimes I wonder if it is a good thing to carry 2 phones with you all the time.

By the way, is the camera of the Mate 20X good as claimed? Haven't managed to try taking photos yet. Just managed to download the Theme yesterday night as the standard Theme that came together with the phone (green colour) looks very ugly.

That's a very good price!

I thought so too because DirectD is selling the phone at RM2400. If you check the price of other phones listed by the seller, you would notice that the prices are quite reasonable if not cheap. A brand new Samsung Galaxy 9 Pro is priced at RM1200+ only and it gave me a slight hesitation whether to go with the Samsung or the Huawei. In the end I still picked the Mate 20X which used to be my first choice all the while in the event I intend to upgrade my old phone. Looks like the upgrade had happened earlier than I thought with the lost phone.

Although I knew the display of the Samsung is better than Huawei - brighter and more vibrant colours, I picked the Huawei for its larger battery capacity, large screen and quality of camera.

Hopefully the camera lives up to the hype.. If not it is still okay because the phone will be able to last a whole day without any charging. And the big screen.

Thanks. But the stock they have is for Demo units, meaning though never officially owned, they have been handled.
*
I see. Didn't really pay attention that the stock are demo units. The phone surely look very new to me, the accessories all untouched and still in wrapping. Anyway considering I wouldn't spend more than RM2k for a phone so it's okay. Guess there's a catch for the low price which is about RM600 cheaper than market price.

Just wondering. To wake up the phone from sleep, we have to press the button on the right side of the phone. Is there any way that we can wake the phone up from sleep by tapping on the screen twice? My previous phone LG V20, the lost phone, there is this function whereby the user does not need press on the button at the side of the phone to wake the phone up. Just tap on the phone twice and the phone will wake up.

For security, tap on the phone twice and the phone will wake up, then key in the security code to access the phone.

Just pointing out the fact in question. To each his own. Some won’t touch these sets with a 10 foot pole. Some couldn’t care less. So long as you didn’t over pay and the unit is not posing any problems, it’s good to go. Cheers.

Yes. That's right. Most importantly there is 3 months warranty provided.

No. There no double tap on default emui.
I think can download app?... Not sure about this.

Why no use the pickup feature.
*
Thanks for the tip. I searched for "Pick Up" in Settings and just enabled the feature. Quite a cool feature! Don't even need to tap on the phone to wake it up. This Pick Up feature is actually better than the tap feature to wake the phone up from sleep.

There tons of people wanna using double tap on mate 20 or mate 9(i own it too)
Not sure what the reason when pick up also the same...
*
After using the Pick Up feature for the 1st time on the Huawei Mate 20X today, I'm beginning to feel it's actually not the same as Double-Tap but actually a superior feature in the sense it is easier and more convenient to wake up the phone by just picking up the phone. With double-tap, sometimes it will not work even if you tap on the screen if the screen is not responsive, for example if your fingers are slightly wet or if you just simply move your hands to tap on the screen, you won't wake up the phone. But with Pick Up feature, it will always work without fail if you pick it up unless the sensor is faulty and the phone won't wake up when you pick the phone up.

By the way, I unplugged the phone from the charger at 6.30am today before heading to work. With normal usage of Whatsapp, and internet browsing, and it's now almost 7.00pm and the battery power left is 69%. Very impressive. I think no issue to last the whole day even with moderate to heavy use.
